GREENBURGH, N.Y. (AP) - Stephon Marbury played the second half of New York's loss to Phoenix on Sunday night unaware his father had been taken to a hospital, where he died before the game ended.

Don Marbury was taken from Madison Square Garden to St. Vincent's Hospital and Medical Center during halftime, reportedly because of chest pains, but a family member advised a Knicks official not to inform Stephon Marbury at the time.

It's sad when anyone loses a parent.

My condolences.

The Knicks are a horrible organization and what they did to Steph is unforgivable. They robbed him of that last little bit of time he would've had. They disgust me.

RIP to Steph's father, Don Marbury, and my condolences to Steph. Nobody deserves to hate their father die and the way they betrayed him disgusts me.

Then they're to blame also. They shouldn't have done that and it's unforgivable. At this point the Knicks have done so much stuff I don't even believe that though.

Knicks may not be a well run organization but the decisin was made by Marbury's family. That's it period - no point in reading into it to find some conspiracy theory in which the Knicks lied to Steph to keep him in a game when they'd do just as bad without him.
