Many say..

that you have to stick with your team through the best and through the worst...
Many Kings fans that have been fans since the old days and even they sucked and had bad games were still there to support them...

why? think about it?
they would loose games, but do what?
PUT IN EFFORT! THEY TRIED!

What we saw before Bibby came along was a team that ran and scored as much as they could...they put in their best effort to win games, but couldn't

here comes along Bibby and his first year they go to the WCF and since the 01 season until 04-05 they have been putting up 50+ wins a season and making the playoffs.

Last year we experienced as many blows as a team can handle.
Injuries, controversies, trades, bickering
And all that happened to a playoff team.

We lost many players and had Miller and Peja injured in the end of the season, but we fought through and made the playoffs and just werent strong enough for the Sonics

but, what we had this season was a revamped lineup that was supposed to make us better in every aspect of the game

defense, post up, scoring, etc.

We lost games with our starting 5 (bibby, bonzi, peja, sar, b52)
well until bonzi got injured we gave effort.

But, for some reason when Bonzi got injured (in my opinion, OUR mvp) , we kinda just took a step back in effort, scoring, and the way our offense ran

dont get me wrong, k-mart is good...real good
but thats not the point of this thread

what im trying to say is that you have to wait...
wait for our mvp to come back. Wait for our original team to come back.
Because guess what? All we have is our starting 5.
Our bench doesnt produce, or maybe Rick just doesnt use them enough.

The Nuggets were torched with injuries, inconsistency, and lack of effort the first half of the season. Here comes along George Karl and has them turn everything around.

Lets wait. Lets hope that we can take advantage of teams looking more at our record, than at our lineup.
Lastly, lets hope that we can work together because if we can  its over...

Many fans are loosing patience, loosing interest, and are flaking out on our beloved Kings that we so dearly loved for so long.

Lets just wait. Patience is a virtue like they say.
We dont need wins, all we want to see is effort. :)

Good post. I hear your pain.

As far as the fans who are losing patience, losing interest, and flaking out?

There are as many different kinds of fans as there are clouds in the sky.

Around here, we seem to get more of the "bleed purple" variety who are Kings fans to the bone, who won't give up no matter what and couldn't even if they thought about it. But that doesn't make them the only kinds of fans.

This is the most difficult time a fan has - watching their team, so recently labeled elite, struggle as they try to find an identity, a leader, a way to fit the pieces together. Some fans simply won't be able to weather the storm. They may cease being fans all together or they may come back once the storm waters have receded.

One thing for sure? Kingsfans.com will be here to welcome them back if they do return.

GO KINGS!!!

I'm not sure if we are watching the same team. BONZI gave effort, yes, but collectively as a team, the Kings have not been much fun to watch all year. The times they have looked like a cohesive team have been few and far between. The effort you speak of has been missing more times than not, even when everyone was healthy (I might even say especially when everyone was healthy) We've got some very nice players, but as a team they really don't complement each other and, frankly, they aren't very good.
Patience IS a virtue, but I think we are talking longer term patience than the return of Bonzi and SAR.

I will support my Kings till the bitter end no matter what. Will I get angry and throw things at the TV? YES! Will I yell and scream and curse my players? YES! Will I applaud them when they are doing well? HECK YES!!! Of course it has been extremely hard this season to watch and enjoy like in the recent past, but I muddle through. I feel for them and I get embarassed for them and I want to help but all we can do is be their fans. I have not been a fan for as long as the majority on this board (6 years or so), but to me I look at these guys as friends. (No I am not some weird stalker) We root for them, we pull for them, we cry for them, we lose them, we want the best for them. That does shouldn't go away because they are losing. In fact it should get stronger. OK-Done rambling.

Well, it's not like the Kings were playing well before the injuries  .

this is a point i think needs to be stressed more often. strangely enough, the kings played some of their best basketball of the season w/ bonzi and shareef out, and with peja out for a game or two as well. that's not to say that rahim and wells are not valuable to the team, but having two less scorers in the starting unit made for better balance. miller and bibby thrived in the two man game when they had less offensive options to deal with. throw peja's, rahim's, and wells' touches back into the mix, and all of a sudden there's less room for one or two guys to get hot. people for some reason seem to think things will get better when the kings get healthy again. it's all blind delusion, if you ask me.

You almost always see this kind of a bounce after a key injury before things settle into mediocrity. People step up because they know they have to compensate for a key personnel loss, there's no pressure, boom, you play well for a little while. But it's a mirage. Even if they weren't exactly tearing up the league, before the Kings could withstand Bibby or Miller or both having an off game and still at least have a shot at winning. Now, if Bibby OR Miller have an off game, they're losing. If they both have an off game, well, you saw what happened. And these days Bibby and Miller aren't exactly two people I want to be depending on.

I'm not saying the Kings are going to be great after Bonzi and Shareef come back but I wouldn't credit the Kings' success to their absence.

i'm not crediting the kings [limited] successes to bonzi and shareef's absence, but i don't think its as simple as guys "stepping up." the bibby/miller two man game has been around since webber was traded, but its becoming something reliable these days. unfortunately, we don't see much of it when all five starters are healthy...cuz everybody wants to score the ball.

the point i was making is that the kings look like a better team when any one or two starters are injured, because then there is less of a need to keep everybody involved offensively. dumb theory, really ;) ...but i only made it to stress the fact that the kings starting unit, when healthy, is so terribly out of balance.

Sit there? Hell, I bought a stress shooter and I shoot little foam disc at my TV screen. No way I can just sit there.

p.s. Damn! I lost one of the pink discs. Don't that just figure. I was shooting them at the Kings players.

Heres the thing. In order to be a post up team, which some people truly believe is a big part of getting the big prize, you HAVE TO PLAY DEFENSE!!! In an up and down game you can afford to go back and forth (of course still play D) but if you slow the game down you have to keep the opponent in check.

What to do. What to do.

yep, it seems like they try only in first halves, then for some strange bad coaching reason, they figure our beloved coach out and he keeps getting checkmated. Im going away for a while. Im looking forward to the lottery.
