Hell give 'em a first rounder in the 2014 draft if they want it. We help clear up our guard issue a bit, get rid of Hayes' contract, and pick up a good, defensive SF we've needed for who knows how long. Win-win-win.

Uh, the 2014 draft is lining up to be the next 2003. That's why you didn't see teams trading next years pick. Plus we can't trade it till the Cavs get it.
I realize the next draft i going to be great but if we get Deng, we could potentially be a playoff team. Reke-McLemore-Deng-Patterson-Cousins sounds like a playoff-calibre team to me. Not to forget Thompson and some of our guard off the bench (whoever stays).

But I didn't remeber the Cleveland deal.

Deng's biggest issue is his impending FA after next season. Bulls might like to shed his contract now and in the future, so there is a chance especially since they can take Salmons as a stop gap for a season. He would be a great fit right now after this draft.

I agree. CHI is tempted (rightly so) to keep Deng due to the amount of money they'd drop next year, and the cohesion they feel that core has when Rose is in it. Something that might intrigue them, though, is Thompson or a combo of PPatt and Jimmer or IT with that expiring from Salmons. Even with Taj, Noah, and Boozer, the Bulls could use depth at the 4 or 5 and might like a nice, well-priced piece in Thompson, who adds more scoring than most of their options off the bench in those spots now. Another thing the Bulls could like is some salary relief (us spelling them against the gap by taking some on), although I don't realistically know how we'd do that while offering something they'd want. In reality, while I'd love to get Dorell Wright, I do think a team like CHI could really go for him due to what he could provide that lineup. Deng is a great player and possesses many weapons, but a quicker, longer FA player with more range might intrigue them.

My deal would be Salmons and JT for Deng. This gives CHI an 8M expiring after next year, although that shouldn't be much of a concern with them as they only have about 5 players signed after next season. JT provides them a well priced piece and they preserve the ability to spend freely. The Kings receive a strong, defensive-minded starting SF with ample experience, albeit for only a 1-year rental. I am not expecting CHI would be doing jumping jacks over the deal, but the reality is there is an inherent risk in any team trading too much for Deng as he is likely gone after 1 year, unless he goes to a contender or a team he covets. My preference would be to focus on a less glamorous but more realistic option, like Ariza, that could allow us to maintain an expiring but also an option to resign, perhaps, if desired.

UPDATE: One postscript to this deal- using TradeMachine, it does appear a deal with MT and either Jimmer or PPat (who IMO would be attractive to them for many of the reasons I outline above for JT) would work and save them about $4M and help them avoid the higher penalty this season under the new CBA. This would also preclude they do not resign Hamilton ($5m option), I'd presume, and thus take their total offseason savings about 10M or so, putting them only 4M over the cap instead of the 13-15M or so they are over it today. Something to think about.

smh you know with this trade we would only have 1 player that is 6'11. we would still have that super 6'6 backup C and ppat who is like 6'8. who else do we have up front? DMC gets in foul trouble and we're trotting out a front line of 6'6, 6'8, 6'8. if anything we need to find some teams that are in the same **** hole we are except they are loaded at the SF position.

look at what happened in the finals, teams with size made it to the end with the exception of the heat who have freaks in LBJ & wade.

You make good points, but I think the Kings retain Cole in that trade scenario, so there is some beef off the bench. Why o' why didn't we take Withey...j/k!

According to realgm, Bulls fans think their needs are at C and at SG. We could trade them Jason Thompson and Marcus Thornton for Luol Deng and the rights to Nikola Mirotic.

I really want to keep Ben. Depending on how he pans out, we could be building around HIM and not Cuz.

I would have to completely disagree with you here! While McLemore may be the steal of the draft as I have seen and heard some say Cousins has the talent and potential to become one of the best big men of all time. Does Cousins have some MAJOR growing up to do? Yes, of course he does. However given the opportunity with coaches and owners who believe in him I do feel he will succeed!

I am very excited at the potential of McLemore and am anxious to see what he can do and what he can bring to our Kings. I just dont see him becoming the face of the franchise.
