Where do I find this facebook page so I can not so politely suggest this Evans fella makes love to himself?

eta: found it, have to like it to post on the wall of course, something I will not do.

double eta: that logo is even more vile than the gold jerseys.

Even if the Kings did move, I can't see them in KY. But it just goes to show you that there are others who would love to have our Kings. Of course the naysayers could care less. Those colors have to go too. Ugh.

The Maloofs have said that they don't want to be too far from their Las Vegas headquarters. Louisville is even farther than KC or Seattle. Sounds like a no go.

You could always like it, leave your self-love comment, then unlike it, can't you? Or does your comment disappear after you unlike the page?

If all it took was a blog campaign to get something done, we'd have had a new arena in Sacramento years ago and I'd have season passes to one of the boxes. ;)

Kentucky wants the Kings and I want a million dollars OR lifetime tickets to Kings games. I wonder which actually has the better chance of succeeding?

I don't know, I once did a like and an unlike and the desired effect went away. In any event I have taken the anonymous coward's approach for now and flagged the page for offensive content under the "scam" category :p

I'm from Kentucky .......... most people I talk with, don't give a rat's tail about the NBA let alone the Kings. The NBA is a distant second maybe third in terms of basketball interest.

On a side note, the atrocious colors are those of "that" city's College teams. Uugh!

Kentucky Wildcats, Kentucky Derby, Louisville Cardinals... no room for an NBA team. ;)

I'd write a comment, but I have a feeling of searing pain in my eyeballs, after seeing the logo. Not to mention the upset stomach. :p

Yeah...and I saw this on the news a couple nights ago after the Laker game too...I'm sure all the casual Kings observers would actually take this as a real story...us...not so much. Hey, I wonder what would happen if I started a Moscow Kings blog page...or even better yet, a Bratislava Kings page?? I wonder how quick the lemmings would jump off the bridge with it?:D

Speaking as a Kings fan (I've never been to Sacramento, the city played no part in my becoming a Kings fan), I am not convinced that moving the Kings isn't a bad idea. I became a Kings fan in 2002 during the Kings-Lakers series, I've been on this board since 2004 thereabouts, and the arena saga has been going on for as long as I can remember. Call me simplistic, but I would have thought that if the city, (the ENTIRE city and not just the Kings fans) really valued and wanted to keep the Kings, an arena bill would have been passed already. I've seen too many rejected attempts and stonewalling to think that Sacramento will actually come through and get something to work, and when I looked through that comment thread on the Bee website that Warhawk and Bricklayer were commenting on, I was shocked at the bone-headedness of many of the opponents. At the very least, the pro-arena people need to market the need more effectively to the average voter, but there seems to be too much anger/small-mindedness aimed at the Maloofs and the NBA in general. I personally would like to see the Kings in a city where they would be appreciated by all, not just by a faithful few. Why isn't that Sacramento?

That is EXACTLY what I think, Geoff. I live down here in San Bernardino County (in Fontana... better known to some as Fontucky) and only have driven by Sac on my way to visit my aunt's restaurants in Nevada City and Grass Valley (gorgeous up there BTW). I ask myself why are there so many people against the Kings, Maloofs and a new arena? What is the majority of the city afraid of? The Kings are part of the community no matter if folks in Sac believe it or not. Everytime the Kings are mentioned on tv the word Sacramento is attached to the name and the team gives the city sort of a 'promotion' or identity if you would; like 'hits' on a website. This is good for major sport cities and cities that don't have a major sports team dream of. If the Kings leave the city will suffer. Not only will some businesses suffer but that identity will no longer be there, and worse, the reputation of a city that could never get things done. Which city wants that image? It is really too bad. From what I've gathered in the last 3 or four years by reading the Bee articles it seems people up there have been treated like a red headed step child and are always bending over holding their ankles, hence, their attitudes against the arena and other proposals for the city. Anyways, I support the proponents for a new arena in Sacramento and I really hope they get it done. The Kings belong there. Hopefully the new owners of the Rail Yards lot can support this and assist with developing a new arena. Time is really running out. Go Kings!

I don't think there are many at all against the Kings staying in Sacto, nor 'afraid' of anything. Rather, it's simple economics. WHO'S PAYING FOR THIS SAID ARENA. The general Joe Blow taxpayer shouldn't be footing the bill to allow the Maloofs make 7 figure incomes, and I understand that the Maloofs Arena would be very beneficial for the region in more ways than just Kings basketball. With that said, there's gotta be a compromise between City Government and The NBA/Maloofs. That's the problem, determining the middle ground and how both come out on top. You're asking very simplistic questions to a very complex answer. It's a lot about politics, more about money and little about support for the team in the community.

Being from Sacramento and currently living in Louisville I think I have a little unique perspective about this topic. My preference is the Kings to Sacramento and be able to get a privately funded, state-of-the-art Arena. I have my doubts about the logistics of that actually happening though. However, if the Kings DID have to move Louisville would be a tremendous fit for an NBA franchise. Basketball is King here. Ignore the 'Kentucky' is a college state. It is, but that's because of circumstance more than it is about pure, genuine attitude. It's a college state based on what they have. All in all it's a BASKETBALL STATE. If they got a team that had two of it's most endeared players from the past 5-6 years in DMC and Garcia, that'd help the area to gain traction it's support for the team immediately. As the team were to become more entrenched in the state, it would be the GAME in town.

Now with all that said, I don't think it will ever happen. Louisville SHOULD get a franchise one day. It's definitely a nice place to live, with good/eclectic people and crazy sports town.

Even though I have little interest in moving back to California(mostly due to the backwards government there and elected officials) after school, I really do hope Sacramento keeps the Kings. I love Cali(the climate, the area and so much more), but I just can't afford to get taxed to death. The Kings will always be my team even if they move out of Sacramento, I just hope they don't.

I understand people are upset that sacramento cannot get an arena done but it is kinda unfair to defame sacramento and just sacramento. The same thing is happening with the Oakland A's, the 49ers, and the San Diego Chargers. Seattle didnt build an arena and their team already left. So it's not the small mindedness of sacramento. It's the horrible anti-business atmosphere of CA and the horrible nationwide economy. On that note we are in the 8th inning and something has to be done.

That's the way we felt when the Cincinnati Royals left! You've got "Our Kings!" Louisville is only 2 hours from the Nati - bring 'em home!

So you're telling me that the Giants and Lakers are packing up their rings and walking?

In my home town, we just voted to build a new arena for the Raiders. In the city next door, they have started work on a new arena for the As.

The national (and global!) economy still stinks, but there's nothing wrong with most of California as a place for professional sports. Watching how receptive people in my own area are, I really do have to think that it is the small-mindedness of Sacramento that's to blame.

And hey, I may currently be in Santa Clara County, but... Yolo and Sacramento county resident for 38 years here, representing.
