Letting Skinner go?

I thought I read that the Bucks picked up Skinner in the Magloire trade but would waive him or possible trade. This was yesterday at realgm, on the Bucks board. So maybe we could pick him back up, lol, and actually play him. Highly doubtful I know but I thought he was a decent player with a great attitude.

Jerryaki are you serious

tayshaun's was ultimately a more important block, but no where near as spectacular Skinner blocked Shawn Marion (with one hand)WAY above the rim and Shawn Marion used two hands and still couldn't get through Skinner's ONE HAND. Blocking a layup (reggie lol) and blocking Shawn Marion at the apex of his jump are two totally different things. I could block a lay-up especially one around the rim.

I'm on your side, but I'm pretty sure Marion's dunk attempt was one handed. Doesn't matter...it was still awesome.

I did love Prince's block on Miller, though...it wasn't so much about a blocked layup. It was how much ground he had to make up to do it.

yeah, i'm serious. calling out a few people today, eh? :)

marion went up for a one-handed tomahawk dunk in a preseason game, so while i agree that it was a nice block, it wasn't all that exciting to me. it was preseason and no one cared. i'm sure a lot of the And1 guys have a ton of moves that are spectacular, but the context of the game and level of competition factor in for me.

tayshaun, on the other hand, had to book it from his offensive three point line to catch up to reggie who was well beyond half court and breaking away. do you realize how much hustle that was? in a playoff game, with the game on the line? that's what made it spectacular.

Skinner is a player Musselman could've used. The previous coach could've used him too. He was a difference maker for the Clippers, he was a difference maker for the Bucks a few seasons ago and whenever he got minutes for the Kings he had an impact. Looking back it was a bad move. We could use him now, even if it were to just trade him + spare parts for Jamaal Magloire.

Problem is he's never been a difference maker. Ever. He is the right style of player, but I am not at all sure of his overall effectiveness. Every team he has ever been on has struggled to be .500, with or without him playing a major role. I liked him as a reserve type guy, but evidence of his consistent impact was dubious (like any player he had some very good games though). Had a strong 2 or 3 week stretch for us when he first arrived, but even when he played last year he was ineffective 2 out of 3 times.

Spraining his thumbs, and then hurting his foot, really took him off of what he was doing for us when he first got here. I think if he had some energy/intensity to his game consistently, he'd be some better.

I agree. He's not a difference maker under any circumstances and overall he's a fairly marginal player. Based on 82games.com the team was generally much worse when he was out there.
