Leonard Padilla writes NBA blasting arena public financing

This is the part I enjoyed reading:

Sacramento Taxpayers Opposed to Pork, or S.T.O.P., told KCRA 3 it had discovered a "technical glitch" in the language of its petition. The petition referred to the initiative by two different titles.
The city attorney's office had already approved the petition last Tuesday, but S.T.O.P. has decided to correct the mistake and resubmit the petition.
As of early Monday afternoon, the group had not yet received approval for its new version.
Sacramento City Clerk Shirley said the group will have until May 22 to collect about 22,000 valid signatures from city voters.

So they are back to square 1 and haven't been able to collect any signatures yet. Brilliant!

Another successful night for #FANS at Sacramento City Hall. We brought the power of education and facts with us.

The first of the CAVE Trolls (opposition) was so upset she cut her speech to just 30 seconds and she wasn't even going to discuss the arena to begin with.

The next CAVE Troll was also upset and his best reply to the council about us was not facts but rather "it's (arena) a stupid idea to begin with and it's not really going any where...stop spending money...it's getting stupid."

#FANS left the council chamber to hang out for a few minutes in the rotunda. We were approached by one member of the opposition and told us she respects us but wishes we would stop coming to city hall since the arena is a done deal. Basically she threw in the towel.

A gentleman talked to #FANS and thanked us for educating those inside city hall as education is a powerful tool. He then saw someone and asked that person to say hello to us. That person stood next to me, looked over at us and noticed our shirts since we had our jackets on. As soon as that person saw our shirts he left without ever saying a word. That person was Leonard Padilla.
