LeBron Put Cavs on his back

MVP!!

Cavs made a huge comback in the 4th... down by 15 led by Lebron's 17 in the 4th. He has 41 points and its tied with a couple seconds left... He has put them on his back and is carrying them now, like a true superstar should be doing.

MVP!!

It appears the "Game Channel" for Yahoo paused... It noticed that the Cavs won by 1.

Lebron had a killer game, similar to some hes had lately. He is deffinitly a consideration for the MVP... favorite? No but what hes done this year as a 20 yr old sophmore is crazy!

last time i checked in on the game they were down by 11 in the third...so they are what 1-3 under the new coach...Brandon Malone....no offense to Brandon....but why did they fire Silas with 12-15 games left in the season...they are playing the same under Coach Malone...im still sticking by my opinion that they should have waited for the season to be over before firing Silas

New Orleans however has been playing MUCH better of late...i think getting Jamaal back and the emergence of some of their young guys...plus someone like Dan Dickau...has really helped them lately...they are playing a lot harder...good for them

Why not?

Without Nash, the Suns lose.
Without James, the Cavs lose.

Look at how many weapons each has on their team to work with. Why does Nash get so many assists? Have you seem how many finishers he has on his team?

Lebron has Gooden who doesnt always have a good game.

JR Smith has been a stud since his coming out party at the dunk contest.

"Without James, the Cavs lose"--maybe this game. Heck, he didn't lead them to a win vs. LA when Kobe didn't play all but a couple minutes in the first. And you know that the rest of the team is a bunch of scrubs, and he couldn't beat them.

But look at the records of their teams. Phoenix 53-17 Cleveland 36-32

Nash has turned the worst team in the west into the best team in the west

Lebron James has turned the worst team in the east into an eastern conference playoff team.

Nash's accomplishments this season are more notable than James'. That said, Lebron is probably the most amazing player in the NBA this season, and probably will be for many seasons to come. He'll get his chance.

Lebron James has no options, no help at all.
His team changed in a negative way over the offseason with the loss of Boozer and no quality pickups.

Nash has Amare, Marion, Johnson, Hunter, Richardson.
Their whole team changed in a positive way this past offseason.

You cant compare records here. This is the most valuble player and who is needed the most by their team.

Your comment about not beating a Kobe-less LA team is dumb, hes not going to win every game whether you think he should or not depending on the opponent. He hasnt and neither has Nash. They both have bad days, although rarely. But when Nash has a bad game he has plenty of help, when Lebron has a bad game, its over.

Lebron had a rare double-double tonight, I see..41 points 10 TO against the Hornets!

As Chick would say.."The Sisters of Saint Mary could beat the Lakers at this point."
Lebron must have a lot of "bad days"..hence his team's record. Like I said, he's very good just not MVP material.

Whats your point?

Lebron is averaging the same amount of TO/game as Nash. Both turn it over a lot. Overall I would take Lebrons stats. They are both pass first players but Lebron gives you plenty of assists as well as rebounds and points. Nash gives you Assists, some points and no rebounds.

They are both valuble to their team but Pheonix has a much much much better chance without Nash than a Cavs team without Lebron. Nash has support, Lebron has none. You have to think about that.

I agree with you, Im not saying he should win it over Nash but I think he is a strong candidate. But you stated my main point. Everything Lebron has a bad day they lose. They lose even when he has a good day because his supporting cast is horrible. Nash has a very very good supporting cast that can win without him.

nash is responsible for turning a mediocre team into the best team in the league. james had turned a bad/mediocre team into a decent yet struggling team. the suns just beat the nugget minus their second best player (stoudamire). nash is solely responsible for that team's success. james is having a solid year, but his stats aren't good enough for him to be mvp calibur, and his team hasn't done enough, either. ai gets more assists and has lead his team to similar results in a similar situation, and the fact that he leads the league in scoring would make him a better mvp candidate. (no, im not saying ai should be mvp, but that the only standards you could use to make lebron mvp would put ai ahead of him, meaning those standards are wrong) to be mvp you either have to have insanely good stats or lead your team to elite status. james has neither.

amare stoudemire, shawn marion, and stephon marbury were all suns last year, and that clearly worked well for them. i don't buy it that richardson turned this team around, and you have to be joking about hunter (4.5 pts, 3 rebs, .2 ast, 13 minutes-yeah, he's the cornerstone of the franchise.)

gooden and mcinnis should have the same or equal impact as richardson, and yet the cavs find themselves nowhere near the level of the suns.

in a few years (maybe next year) james will be mvp quality. but not this year.

Really the question is NOT: "is Lebron this seasons MVP... he is not." The real question is how many MVP's will he have by the time he is Nash's age?

^ exactly. he's not winning an mvp award this year, but my guess is, 11 seasons from now, he'll have at least 3, maybe as many as 5 or 6. but not one from 2005

26 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists a game isn't good enough for him to be MVP caliber? Not to mention over two steals a game, he's shooting close to 50% from the field and about 35% from outside. It's not about stats; it's about whether or not his team is a winning team, and right now, it's not a winning team.

Nash is probably the front runner for MVP since Duncan went down, with Shaq closely following him. But it's not his individual stats that put him at the front of the pack; it's about what he's meant to his team this season, in the Western conference, with a bunch of youngsters.

And, by the way, that's the reason that the Suns don't win without Nash, not because of the quality of the team (far superior to the Cavs without LeBron), but because of Steve's role. He's a true point guard who can do everything you want your point guard to be able to do offensively, and he has the most athletic frontcourt in the League. That's a dangerous mix.

For LeBron to even be talked about in the MVP discussions is amazing to me, considering his age and his level of experience. And then when you consider that it's not just talent, but the way he handles himself, it blows the average basketball fan away.

Check out this excerpt from last night's recap:
James repeatedly drove to the basket early after shooting 10-for-28 in an overtime loss to Chicago on Thursday night.

Malone told James after that game to try to avoid taking jump shots early in the shot clock. James shot 13-for-21 against the Kings.

He's coachable, he's talented, he's athletic and he's young. That's the ideal player, and he's making the best of his situation. Pretty soon, he's going to be the best player in the NBA. Real soon.
