Ticha was the second highest scorer IN THE GAME with 15 pts. Oh happy day
And it was a quiet 15, and that is a good thing. I was commenting to my seat neighbor, that a lot of the shots Ticha was taking tonight, she was hitting 3 games ago, but they were not going down. Then all of a sudden, I looked up AND SHE HAD 14 POINTS!!!!
ON HER WAY TO A NICE 15, with 6 points coming from the line. Other observations.
1. The third quarter had to be the best quarter Sacramento played all season. The defense was absolutely smothering and Kara capping the quarter with a three was "the" highlight of the season thus far.
2. There was one point in the third I believe that LA had a very intimidating line up of
Page, Parker, Leslie, Spencer and Jacobs and Sacramento had a line up of
Franklin, Newton, Kelly, Harper and Robinson. I knew we were in for a spanking!!!!! I was muttering foul things under my breath towards Coach Boucek. That Monarch group played for only a few seconds, but I was wondering what in the hades the coach was thinking about.
3. When Powell and Lawson score like they did tonight (fight through screens, shoot without hesitation) the Monarchs win. Nicole Powell was sensational.
4. I don't know how long Brunson is going to be able to fight through her ailments. She did what she could tonight and was never a liability.
5. The defense of Newton and Robinson was the key to the ball game. LA had no answer on either side of the ball for them two.
6. The post of Harper, Williams and Kelly need to go to "Big Man's School". All three have one move to the basket and then it is blocked. sigh!!!!
7. If the Sparks have any championship aspirations, they are going to have to get more from that backcourt.
