Lakers @ Suns

Well for the lakers to win in 6 the series has to go 6, thats why the slap in the face in not a foul ;)

On the other hand, considering how bad the lakers finished around the basket and the number of missed free throws they really gave the game to the suns. Lakers also showed that the suns can be defended and can be tired out. They took Eddie house totally out of the game and seems like Phil did have a game plan, its just that the players couldnt execute to get the win.

By the way, I am predicting the kings series to also go 6 ;)

Yea lakers lost!!!:D Something told me to tape it today but I have the other games to watch. Something about a Lakers loss always makes me feel better, eases the pain of our game just a little.

People have long accused Phil Jackson of only being a winning coach because he has a packed team. Well, I think this year he's showing that he can do quite a bit with one superstar and a bunch of role players. Not bad, not bad at all.

Of course, you do realize I'm still thinking, "DIE LAKER SCUM!" right?

;)

there it is

A spanking like the Kings got yesterday needs a little more time to heal. ;)

I thought it was good to see that PJ wasn't rusty after the year off --- first quote in the online yahoo article posted soon after the game mentioned how many free throws the opponent shot.

We don't even deserve to mention the Lakers losing until the Kings even make things even competitive for the Spurs.

haha, yeah. one of my friends (lakers fan) was all bragging and doing that whole "kings got killed" thing until the lakers lost. haha. made me feel a bit better.

Here's the deal. The Lakers played about as well as they're gonna play and they lost.

We played about as poorly as we're gonna play and we lost.

Somehow, I'm thinking it just might be better to be a Kings fan right now than to be a Laker fan.

But they did get killed. That doesn't make me feel any better about our loss. I also have more faith that PJ will make the necessary adjustments as opposed to the tweaking that RA will do. ;)

If Kobe had even an average game the outcome may have different.

And as far as the bolded statement....NEVER!! ;)

I just don't see Kobe being able to do it all, hoopsie, and I think his supporting cast tried their very best. You guys lost in a closely fought game. We were bulldozed. I have to believe my Kings will come out ready to redeem themselves.

I'm not talking about you the Laker fan and/or me the Kings fan.

I'm saying it's my thought that being a Kings fan and knowing there's a LOT of room for improvement might be a little easier than being a Lakers fan and pretty much knowing you have to put all your eggs in Kobe's basket...

Of course I don't expect you to see this the same way I do... If that happened, whatever would we talk about???

:D

Our love of garlic fries?? ;)

I see where you're coming from, and I do, of course, see it differently than you...but that's what makes it fun, eh? :)

Garlic fries... I shall be consuming Arco garlic fries in approximately 163 hours or less.

Face it, dear hoopsie, we're both clutching desperately at straws at this point. We aren't the #1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6 seed. We're 7 and 8 ... not exactly numbers to inspire bucketloads of confidence.

;)

But hope ... and fan belief ... spring eternal.

I'm not denying that they got killed. I know they did. :) It sucked. It sucked watching it with him too. But yanno, it was just friendly competition between me and my buddy. ;)

But I did think it was sorta funny at the beginning of the game how both teams were like...4-4...don't remember the exact field goals though.

Now I'm hungry for garlic fries!!

Not "bucketloads of confidence", no, but as you said..hope springs eternal! :D Do I expect to win this series...not really, but there's always a chance, isn't there? What kind of a fan would I be if I didn't believe....even a little bit?? :)

And that's what draws us together, I think, despite being fans of different teams. It's our complete and utter devotion to our respective teams. We can respect that in each other despite the actual uniforms involved.

...

Wow. That sounded pretty scholarly for this early in the morning, didn't it???

:D

Oh..it's morning already??

And it's my "complete and utter devotion"(and maybe a little craziness too!) that made me get a little tat while down in SoCal recently.

Well, it is after midnight...I probably should have said "this late at night"...

Personally I don't think it's morning until I've been to bed and slept but that can get very confusing. I've been known to have breakfast while my neighbor is having dinner... so don't go by me.

Hrm... omelet with a side of garlic fries! And maybe some English muffins with some of the fantastic homemade blackberry jam I have in my cupboard.

Not really. I'm out of eggs. I couldn't possibly make garlic fries good enough to meet my own strict standards...and I couldn't make my own English muffins if my life depended on it.

I do have the jam, however...

hoopsy-if you'd sucked just a little more, you could have had the privilege of being killed also:mad: It won't happen again!!!!!!! (please no!)

Naw...I don't think anyone will outdo the record setting suckage the Kings showed the other day, for a long time. ;)

Our teams are both going to be flushed in a few more games. Then it's another long summer.

i'm gonna agree with gargy on this one. it was great to be a fan of either team heading into the playoffs because of momentum and solid play...but i think the painful realization of being utterly outmatched has basically dawned on both teams and their fans. the dreaded offseason approaches...
