If that's the case the rest of the NBA has nothing to fear. Kobe isn't that great from the perimeter.
Number 17 on the all time 3 point list

Not a big fan of the fit, I honestly think Andre Miller would be the ideal backcourt complement to Kobe. Nash is more of an uptempo guard. Lakers are more half court team. We shall see.
Let us remember that they have the great Mike "Kenny Natt's Mentor" Brown as their coach.
PS the only real/acceptable argument why we shouldn't get players of this caliber...we have broke @$$ owners and these players don't accept IOUs
So many people in denial here. Of course a 2 time MVP, multiple allstar, one of top pg in the league helps out the Lakers. Age doesnt matter, him at 38 or whatever is still better than what we have in their early 20s. This move either keeps them as competative as last year or makes them better. Most of you hate this move are just trying to convince yourselves that this makes the Lakers worse, but I bet a high percentage of Lakers fans love the move. All we do is make up reasons not to take top tier players on this team (Nash/Parker/Melo/even lebron/Kobe) even tho they are better than everyone on our team not named cousins. So keep making up your reasons not to take all stars if it makes you sleep better at night during our dreaded off season which normally starts after the all star game if not sooner.

Trippin. Yeah, Nash at 39 is an all star. Yes, he is 39. The only time you make a play for a 39 year old past AS is if your team is composed of aging veterans and you want to make one last push at a ring. AND NO WAY IN HELL STEVE NASH WOULD HAVE CONSIDERED COMING TO SACRAMENTO so please get off the wagon.

Never said I wanted Nash specifically. I'm just tired of people thinking the kings are this great team that no one is good enough to play for. All you do is pick out their flaws and look towards the draft, but you know what? The draft doesn't always work out. If you actually read what I wrote, you can see my points were Nash keeps the Lakers competative, and the bottom dweller of the league kings are in no position to think allstars arent good enough for this team. Never said we should go after Nash or that he even considered us.
Well, we all know what happened the last time the Kobes decided to stack their roster with some all star/hall of fame players (kobe, shaq, payton, malone). Here's to a repeat performance!!!!
3 years deal for Nash is way too much. I mean, he is a great player, but he's 38. And I'm not so sure he will work in the Lakers with Kobe. I don't know, I hope this move is a complete failure for them. I really hope so.
I don't know why people are so worried about this. Nash is old enough he can fall off the cliff at any point now. Kobe is already in decline, and Pau looked to be as well. Could it work? Sure. But there are all kinds of ways they still come up short. Rem the Kobe/Shaq/Mailman/Payton crew? This is no guarantee.
More surprising that Nash, after all the years of saying it didn't matter to the point he was just gong to stay put and wind down, all of a sudden pulled off one of the two ultimate ringchasing with no pride (Miami=other) moves.
Funny. Last season Nash at 38 shot 53% from the field, 39% from 3, led the league in assists, and was a significant reason why PHX overachieved last year. Nobody is saying they are guaranteed a ring, but are they much better than last year? Yes.
Also, yes.. Nash actually has been extremely loyal. He never said a word about wanting to leave even when it became apparent PHX had no chance at a ring. He played out his full contract without a peep. And now, as a free agent he chose a place that gives him a starting role, is a legitimate contender, offered him the second most money, will be only an hours flight away from his family, and you say he has no pride? Not to mention PHX had no serious intention of resigning him? Easy to judge from your armchair.
I don't see how anybody could hate on Nash. He's been a class act his entire career.
The Clippers score Lamar Odom. The Lakers turn around and get Steve Nash. So much for the Clippers being the best team in Staples.
My hatred of the Lakers is bottomless...and endless...and eternal.
Ironically, your fave Cuban is the party responsible for giving the Lakers the trade exception to offer Phx. He gets the Odom that melted down like Fukushima and has to get rid of him at cost. Then Kidd leaves and now he can't go after Nash (whom he originally lost years ago by ponderously being a hardass w/ his contract offer).
Mark, Mark, Mark...
How's it goin, btw, VF21? Only my 2nd visit in 15 months.
OMG! A Gargamel sighting!! Very glad to see you around!
Somewhat ironically, the idea that Mark Cuban helped shoot himself and the Mavericks in the foot by starting the whole mess actually makes me feel a little better.![]()
I'd rather have him than the Maloofs. In the end, it's all comparative and I happen to like what Marky Mark has done for the Mavericks, mistakes and all. I don't want to pick on you as it's good to have you back but after screwing up with LaFrentz, Marquis Daniels, Nash, etc., etc., they won an NBA championship. I don't understand ithe criticism unless there is a large portion of jealousy behind it.
