SAR did mucho better (off & def) than KT against bigger 4's and 5's off the bench but KT rebounded better but is more defensive liability and they don't get along. Problem is we have both for 5 more years under contract, KT $6.7m-$8.5m and SAR $5.4m-$6.6m but Corliss only for one more year at $6.5.
So, Corliss becomes much more moveable with an expiring contract but a tweener in any view and a great locker room presence and a ring from Detroit.
My problem is I want to keep SAR but not KT and Corliss is tradeable, sort of. That means we have to trade for a proven PF behind SAR while we wait to see if any of the rookies (Amundson, Williams or ???) can fill in by mid year.
If I put on the hat of any other team in the league and look at KT and Corliss what do I see to help me win games now? KT is a 10 reb/game guy and 6-10 pts but is undersized. A team with tall SF who is not a rebounder could use him or a number of teams could use him off the bench. Put him on our bench and he'll complain enough to get traded particularly if SAR plays in front of him.
Corliss is tougher on trade value. Short but plays big (sort of), not a good rebounder rather a muscle man underneath to score in a mob, always good for 6-8 pts. A bench leader but not a rah-rah type like Vlade was. Provides some muscle off the bench. But has an expiring contract.
Forget trading Brad. He has 5 yrs remaining going from $9.6M to $12.2M so we have him for awhile. In a year maybe one of the new kids on the block move him to the bench.
And I almost forgot about Potapenko who gets $3.6m but it is his last year, so is an "expiring" contract. Tho not a big, Jason Hart has only one year left on his contract at $1.6M
What to do? What to do? Petrie, weave your magic and loosen up some cap room and get us a PF to help this year.
