KT for Q-Rich?

What do you think about a Kenny Thomas for Quentin Richardson trade? Richardson is rumored to be on the way out of NY, and out of all the players we could feasibly get for KT, he would rank among the best. While he was stuck on the bench in NY, he was a very useful player for the Clippers and the Suns. Sure, his contract sucks, but then again so does Kenny's. This trade clears up the situation with Reef and Kenny at PF, and Q-Rich provides insurance in case Bonzi leaves, or otherwise gives us great depth at the wing positions.

Only if Bonzi leaves.

But yes, if we were to lose Bonzi that might actually be a possible deal you could make for a less talented but similar guy, and with three point shooting as well. Have to see, Zeke's Knicks are a complete mess and neither I, nor anybody else, has any clue what they want to do with that pile of spare parts they call a roster.

I'd do it if we lose Bonzi. Q-Rich can play defense, has a post-game it just needs to be utilized (see DePaul and Clipper days), good rebounder, athletic, and can of course shoot. The post-game wasn't used much in New York or Phoenix for obvious reasons.

Q-Rich would be a great pickup if Bonzi left, has a good touch and is strong in the post (he just didnt use his post game in Phoenix or NY).

However, I will say that if while wearing a Kings uniform he ever does that stupid head touch thing that all the Clippers morons learned together, he will have to be shot on the spot.

Wonder if we will be able to get Stern to give us an injury exemption? ;)

To me that's the best thing he's got going for him. Q is not a good shooter (look at his percentages). He takes way too many threes and although he does have a post game he never uses it (this goes back to the clipper days). He's like a smaller, broke-man's Antoine Walker (albeit with better D).

If you trade KT its fine to take 75 cents on the dollar, but we should at least get back a usable player in return. Etan Thomas is a good example. Even if Bonzi leaves, Q just doesn't bring that much to the table.

If Bonzi leaves there is still no point in picking up Q. Martin and Garcia are better. How bout Thomas for Mo Taylor? He has an expiring contract, maybe we could just buy it out....

If Bonzi leaves, you gotta get another guy with some experience on the team. Starting or not. Artest and 3 young guys (or 2) as the swingman crop, I don't think will happen. For a team looking to get back in the tops of the NBA and that'll likely make the playoffs.

In all likelyhood, with a situation like that (not w/ Q-Rich, in general), I would think Martin starts at SG.

If Bonzi leaves, I think a wing rotation of Artest, Martin, and Garcia would work fine. If we get someone like Q, then Garcia gets no minutes. Plus we have Corliss and Monia on the bench. If someone were to get injured either Corliss or Monia could step in at the backup 3 for a few minutes a night. We could also run some sets with our new backup PG (Bobby Jackson or Rondo maybe?)and Bibby together. If we lose Bonzi, adding another veteran swingmen would just create the same problems we have now. We only need an 8-9 man rotation. Having a good backup at every position doesn't leave enough minutes for everyone.

I think if Bonzi left and they wanted to trade KT for a swingman they could do better than Q. They almost traded KT for Mason last year and he's much better than Q. That said, on your parameters it would be that bad of a deal.

if we could then trade bonzi for a big, like raef that can play both pf/c.... sure... q to kmart alleys with the head bump thing... priceless...

Picking up another swingman is the last thing we need to do, even if Bonzi is gone. We have other needs, picking up an overpaid chucker to launch ill-advised 3's would be a bad move.

Still, eventually we'd have to get a wing with some exp. to replace Bonzi's experience.
Were you thinking somebody who would log some minutes? Or someone who could play in case of injury or ineffectiveness of or young guys? Maybe we could just get some veteran like Shandon Anderson or something who wouldn't demand minuted but could play if we neeeded them. Idk, just throwing that out there...

If there's no Bonzi, someone like Jumaine Jones could fill that role. Come in off the bench, play tough D, hit some 3's, make things happen. He should be pretty cheap.

I would do this trade. Q-Rich can really explode in our system with his amazing touch from down town.

Exactly the kinda guy I mean, nbrans. Ju. Jones wouldn't be a bad replacement.

To expand more... Jumaine Jones/Rasual Butler/Greg Buckner/Shandon Anderson/Matt Barnes/Laron Profit... or trade for a guy like Crawford (he's improved his shot selection) or Hassell. All would come off the bench.

I could not find his total salary?

I seen he was 221 in total salary rank were KT was 85th. At this point I am for trading KT for almost any contract that doesn't last 50 years. I never liked him, still don't and he needs to go.

Exactly. I proposed this trade more as a way of getting rid of Kenny, not because I think we need Richardson particularly. I just don't see the Kings getting more value in return, especially with how inconsistent KT was this past season.

If we could get a 3rd team to give us a defensive minded center for Q-Rich then i would do it, other than that i'd pass--it might scare Bonzi into thinking we don't want him anymore.

He's a 35% 3 point shooter for his career. That's league average.
jason hart shot 36.8% in his year with the bobcats
does that make him a good three point shooter?

you shouldn't look at stats to judge someones shooting ability, you gotta judge by watching how they play and how they shoot if its a repetitive shot style or not, but yes you are right q-rich is not the best shooter but he is a streaky one...
