Welcome fellow lunatics and everyone else to the early edition of the game thread written just in case that Bee staff needs more material for the paper. This oughta give them enough time.
If we consider that this time Bee used a credible source (without giving it any credit) - things are pretty good around here. We were "accused" of 2 things here and hey we got to kill time between games so...
My comment was paraphrased which is OK. Everybody whose IQ is higher than the room temperature realized that it was figure of speach. Generally, someone who would actually quote/paraphrase me is either retarded or very desperate:rolleyes:. Either way he/she totaly missed the profession.
Second is their remark about trade speculations around here. WTF ? He is making fun of people who know more about BB than he does. People that have no other interest or agenda than supporting the Sacramento kings. Every trade speculation was an "attempt" to make things better - even if it is just a dream. We do this because we like the Kings and CARE about them. We don't make money doing this. We spend our free time here.
At least we are not hypocrits. We go in every Kings game with only one option - that Kings will win, regardless of the odds. I am sure Bee had 2 options on the "buzz article." Since we had a good game and beat nuggets it was easy to take a cheep shots to a "bunch of lunatics." If the Nuggets had won - there would have been another version. Same garbage just different wrap.
Personally, I am glad that in this hard economic times - I could contribute my part to increase somebody's job security. We do what we can here;)
My trade proposal for today - Joe Davidson, AV and whoever hired them - for Peter Vescey
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kings 2-4 with a chance to go on a winning streak and finally not last in the West. The standings are extremly temporary these days especially considering that Clippers are #1 in the West. We have a good opportunity here to use the home games ang get out of this hole.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Looks like my prediction of the team meeting was a "little" off. Kings responded but left us with mixed feelings here. Hard to understand why they don't put same amount of effort every night because the talent is there. Maybe not for great goals but we have enough to make PO - even win 50 games.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
We outplayed and outworked Denver. We saw lots of good things but also plenty of room for improvement. The road will be bumpy and there will be setbacks but in the end Kings will be OK despite all the predictions from all the "experts" who will then deny all the garbage that they are saying now.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Our today's opponent - Knicks - suck. They really do. It is very simple tonight. If Kings take Knicks seriously and play with the same effort/intensity - Kings will win even if Knicks play well. Also one Kings player is due for a tripple double. On the other hand - such an opponent is very dangerous. Theory of big numbers states that even Knicks will win a game (maybe this season - maybe not). We have to make sure "it ain't us".
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mike - playing FSM is a challenge and Mike likes challenges. Also he did not really put a great game together this season. That is where Knicks come in play
Pedja - fulfilled his quota for the season:eek:. He usually does well against Knicks.
Brad - flirted with TD couple times. Should finally land a date.
SAR - just keep it up
Bonzi - should have a field trip
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kevin Martin just needs to keep this up.
Hart - did well last game and will continue to do so.
KT and Corliss - :p
the rest still needs to show signs of life upon given opportunity.

We have a bench as long as there are always 3 starter present - whete Mike, Pedja and Brad are 2 out of those 3.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
RA - survives to fight another day. Way he conduct himself these days should inspire his player to give 100 %
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Knicks suck. They have the "best PG" on this planet and probably even in the universe unless one of the creatures from the "space jam" worked on his game this summer. Jerom James will be in town so get some garbage bags ready. Knicks have plenty of guys that can win "Eduardo Najera memorial"
Matt barnes should get warm welcome.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Go Sixers !

well it is a contract year and some of us are actually trying to earn the max:D
Well, don't start spending all that cash quite so soon. Some of us want to actually see some consistency before we agree to ink the max deal...

After all, it's still early. Sure, you appear to be in peak form right now, but we all KNOW you didn't participate in the pre-season so we don't know what kind of condition you're in. Are you going to start strong and then fade, just when we need you the most???

It's only November. Let's wait until at least January before you start demanding the max, okay???

Agreed on both aspects -- should by all rights be as easy a game as we could ask for to run the record up to 3-4 and start feeling better about ourselves. But for that very reason its a classic game that can go very very wrong if we don't come out with intensity.

Some interesting matchups that could be problems:
1) Brad v. Curry -- the first center since Yao with the potential to really hurt Brad where he's weak down in the post. On the other hand won't pose a problem with superior hustle, and won't be too willing to chase Brad out at the elbow, so Brad should be able to get off the jumper at will.
2) Bonzi vs. either Crawford or Q -- Crawford has a major quickness edge but no hope at all inside against him on defense. If its Q he and Bonzi should have a real physical banging war inside unless Q decides to chicken out and chuck stupid 3ptrs.
3)Mike vs. Marbury -- Stephon has the potential to really light up Mike and is a really bad matchup for him -- take him right to the hoop at will. Stephon, and the Knicks as a whole, can have entire games where they play with absolutely zero passion, but if he's on and wants it we might have need of Hart as a cooler before the night is over.

Peja vs. Q and Reef vs. Davis should be gimmes for us without much downside on the other end of the floor.

so i'm guessing the server's been down for a while, seeing as how there is no fallout from the game last nite. what other honors can we hand out this season? jon barry almost having a career night? barbosa's coming out game? knicks' first win??

after reading one of the articles on how the kings are "rebuilding" and not "reloading," i've been able to readjust my expectations accordingly, and not taking these things so seriously now. of course, that did not make it easier to fall asleep last nite.

don't lose hope. i still believe in these guys, and i still have hope that things will turn out okay. and besides, i can always repeat to myself, "i wasn't here for 1985-2000...it could be worse." :p

and when i'm really feeling down, i just go, "pffft, houston's 2-4." :D

Shortest - Game Thread Ever.

Considering the way we played - It ould have had 30+ pages and 25 of the would have been garbage but still better quality than the game;)

Our offense is broken. 22nd in the league in ppg(92.7!), 25th in fg%(42%), 20th in 3pt fg%(333), 7th in assists(21.85) is ok, but not really for this team...and since we are giving up so many assists to our opponents we are 25th in assists per game differential(-2.42). We are also 27th in ppg differential(-8.28). Haven't even looked at defensive stats yet *shudder*.

You're kidding, right?

It's time to face the truth. Our team right now is on a precipice. It can either pull back or it can plummet to the earth far below and crash in flames.

The SACRAMENTO KINGS is not some fabled entity incapable of error. It is the name of a franchise. That franchise hires players ... Right now, the players wearing the uniform of the Sacramento Kings are lost. They are, as I've referred to in other threads, a ship without a rudder, a flock of sheep with no shepherd, a hen house full of hens with no rooster.

If you don't like the stats KP just posted, you'd better batten down the hatches. They could very easily get worse before they begin to get better.

We're facing Utah, Milwaukee, Seattle, Golden State, New Jersey, Toronto, Charlotte and Golden State between now and the end of November.

Quite frankly, we could conceivably lose every single one of those games if someone wearing the Kings uniform doesn't step up and remind those guys of something they seem to have lost: their pride.

The strangest thing for me this year is looking at the schedule and worrying about games that I never would have worried about in the last 5 years. Sure we may have dropped games against lesser opponents in the past, but night in and night out, thats the NBA. It certainly was less frequent than some people seemed to believe. I think the reality of being a team that loses a lot to lesser opponents on a regular basis, is going to be a shock to those people. Even worse is looking at the schedule and seeing games I think we'll have to play out of our minds if we are going to win, or even compete in. It just doesn't feel right.

I think we may all have to lower our definition of "lesser opponent" before too long. WE are rapidly becoming the "lesser opponent".

Next up: an AK-47less Jazz team. I think we are almost bak to where we were friday night. A must win. Drop that game and...

Thank god Brian Grant missed that jumper in Phoenix.
