KJ speech today

I was at a conference today and the guest speaker was Kevin Johnson. I think this was the first time I have actually heard him speak (I don't live in Sacramento, so I didnt get to vote for the mayoral race and didn't follow his campaign).

He was funny and a warm personality - he stopped to sign some autographs when he was done (outside the main hall, I was within a couple feet of him but didn't bug him). Here is a shot of him doing his thing.

What did KJ talk about?

Spoke about his trip to DC and the inauguration - how Dianne Feinstein has moved up in the political world and got him a great seat (maybe 100-ft from Obama during the swearing in) -- he said his seat was in the 5th row, better than Arnie's, better than LA's mayor, etc. He said Sacramento is well situated to get a good portion of the stimulus $$$ slated for California, and he is a firm believer in the worth and benefit of small businesses. He said he will work to make doing business with and in the city a lot easier to do, as much as possible.
