Las Vegas, Monday, 13 July.....CruzDude has arrived at VSL! Driving in early this afternoon it was 106 degrees. As in farenheit!! Humidity around 25% with stiff breeze. Not all that bad.

This will be my live blog thread for tonights summer league game between the Kings and the Bucks. Unfortunately my wireless card died when I tried to log on moment ago so I'll have to file reports each quarter by popping down the the media center to plug into their wired internet connections. Since the Kings are playing in the Thomas & Mack Arena, the main arena for UNLV here in Las Vegas, the schlep will take a few minutes but will faithfully get you all the hottest and latest.

Tonight I'll line up the interviews for the next few days which each will be posted in a separate thread. Photos will come as we can get them into the laptop and uploaded to this thread.

So bear with me and my dead wireless card, I'll get it replaced tomorrow and have live from the floor feeds for wednesday and friday's games.

Won't know starting lineup until game time but will get that up ASAP when known. :D

Las Vegas.....July 13. Just driving into Las Vegas is an adventure. Even on a monday afternoon the traffic jams up 3 miles before Tropicana Blvd and at 3 pm it was 109°!!!!

Game Time, StartersKings
Jon Brockman
Omri Casspi
Jason Thompson
Wesley Matthews
Tyreke Evans

Starters Bucks
Joe Alexander
12 Mbah A Moute
21 Amir Johnson
20 Jodie Meeks
3 Brandon Jennings

Brockman is an ANIMAL!! 3 reb in first 4 min. One while being knocked on his kister and passed while falling to Evans driving to basket. WOW!!

JT to Evans fast break for 2. quick fast, JT takes only 1 dribble

Evans shot from behind his head really kinda screwy, sorta like Kevins only from behind his head

Jennings on Evans a joke as Evans does what ever he wants.

Kings shots not falling.

5:16 left in 1st q, K 2 Bucks 8

Brockman gets reb amonst 5 players under bucket

3:45 left in 1st, starters still in

Another def rebound in traffic for Brockman I think 7 so far in 1st!!!

Evans to JT in close, 3rd shot to roll completely around and not go in

JT missed free throw, hustled for own reb, feed to Evan double pump/fake for layin

Fast break to JT for easy lay in. Kings 17 Bucks 13

another Kings fast break, Evans in lead, hard foul

end 1st Kings 20 Bucks 13

by my count Brockman had 8 rebounds and 6 or 8 pts. more on him later. He is a keeper for sure

Casspi doing ok but trying to find his way. JT being JT. Evans showing his stuff and justify his #4 pick.

1st quarter stats of note:
Brockman: 8 reb, 7 pts, 0 TO
Evans: 3 reb, 4 ast 7 pts 2 TO
Casspi: 2 reb 1 blk shot 0/3 shooting

start of 2nd Q
Roberts 15>>Evans
McNeal 22>>Matthews
LAndry 16
JT 34
Greene 20 (his 15 lb muscle are in upper arms and shoulders)

Landry tough reb down low, 2 fakes, quick put back

Jennings lot of movement but he is barely 6ft..... 4th foul, 3 on Evans (har har)

4 min left in half Kings 34 Bucks 29

Fast break Greene off hustle reb, feeds to Landry for 3

2 Kings block Jennings layup attempt into first row!!

Matthews twisting turning off balance left handed layup off fast break from Greene after rebound tap from JT

41-32 Kings 2:37 left in half

Evans draws 3 then off loads to Matthews for easy 3 from side.

Kings still weak on transition defense.

Half Kings 43 Bucks 39

Bucks just out hustled K in last 4 min of half.

Other observations

Evans drives so quick he gets in deep with his D crowd making it tougher to pass out. But he has really good court vision. Kings seem to be shooting too quick sometimes.

Greene looks really good and is as fast as JT at least and great on fast breaks.

Matthews looks good but my eye has no idea how good re. roster. not yet anyway

Kings defensive rebounding very very agressive now with JT and Greene and always with Brockman

NOTE: will do post game interview tonight with Omri Casspi. Then wednesday with Tyreke and Brockman.

Stick around, it gets worse..... by the time I got my interview wirh Omri Casspi was done the arena was closing then the media room was closed. So went back to hotel to find the internet modem in my room had died
