I really don't think Minnesota is going to give up a #7 pick for Bibby, even if they do clear some salary.

They clear salary AND upgrade the PG position and give KG a move where he could actually contemplate staying in Minny. Who is Minny gonna pick at #7? Julian Wright? You think KG is thinking that Julian Wright is going to save that franchise? I just don't see an impact player at #7 for the Wolves. Bibby is an impact player and a seamless fit in Minny.

If they're going to move the #7 they could do better than Bibby. Like, Artest for starters.

They wouldn't want Artest more than they want Bibby. Mike has proven he can be the #2 guy on a contender. Ron is a loose cannon. Just go ask wolves fans on other boards.

Huh, maybe so. I would just think that the SF position is their weakest spot and they could upgrade that a whole lot more with Artest than they could at PG. I don't think Bibby is all that much better than Mike James, so I don't see why they would give up the pick to upgrade there, when they could make a serious upgrade from Hassel to Artest. But I don't know what their plan is over there, they really don't have a lot to offer.

Ricky Davis > Mike James, at least talent-wise IMO.

Bibby/Davis or James/Artest. I'd think Bibby would help the Wolves out better.

Just envisioning Bibby/KG Pick n Rolls/pops would be fun to watch. I'd probably watch a lot mroe wolves games. Davis is a very talented basketball player and has a better contract. Getting Bibby is better for the wolves in the short and long term rather than getting artest and moving Davis' expriring contract.

Bibby is 10 times better than Mike James IMO, and I like Mike James.

Bibby's better, but he's not a #7 pick better. That's the problem with this trade.

This honestly looks like a classic Kevin McHale move. It sure is dumb on their part but right down his alley. I mean they already have a million undersized combo guards, what's one more?

I think Minnesota would have some motivation to do this. McHale is pretty dumb, and he wants KG to stay, obviously. Why use the 7th pick when he has KG near his decline? He still wants to build around KG, and Bibby would help a lot.

Minnesota is looking short term, not long term. They might do it...

I am intruiged with getting #7 pick from Minny but boy do we get some crap in return as a result.

I guess the positive would be that those contracts would only run for a couple of seasons. So come summer of 2009 and we have a big chunk coming off the payroll. And if you do the proposed Artest & Kenny for Francis, Lee/Fry/Balkman & pick 23, Francis' monsterous contract comes off the books at the same time making us a player in the FA market.

Yup that's the idea...consolidate and align expirings to come off the books in the same summer while accumulating youth and draft picks. If we did just those two trades, I could realistically see the Kings becoming the elite team in the west again in 3-4 years tops.
