I am not ashmed to say it and this may be extreme to some haha, but I almost have tears in my eyes in joy while watching this team. The Kings mean so much to me and to see them performing like this just makes the days easier.
We are truly a contender to win the whole damn thing!

Sabonis with 30 points on 12 shots haha
Awesome March slumping breakout game for Keegan. This was the guy we were used to showing up on a regular basis in Dec/Jan/Feb. TD was scorching hot in the first half and continues his streak as possibly the worst player in the NBA to be hugely impactful in certain individual games every couple weeks. Domas just a ho-hum 30-9-9 on 12 shots. A career game for most players and it's almost like that line is expected from him at this point. Incredible.
Kessler had a very rough first stint with the 3 fouls, but thought he bounced back extremely well in his minutes after that. Had a 3 on a Sabonis DHO which was very eye-opening if he starts making that a somewhat regular happening. 9 points on 3 shots is exactly what we want from, including 2 from three. Defense remained among the best on the team; was the main defender on Beal who got going a bit in the third, but ultimately only put up 20-3-2 on 17 shots. If you keep opposing star guards to that line, we're going to keep winning a bunch of games.
Perhaps most importantly, No Huerter, No Lyles, Fox a no-show and we still show we can blow-out a team and drop 132. These kind of explosions from guys like Monk/Keegan and maybe TD if he's in the playoff rotation are going to show up huge in the playoffs as we can't depend on Fox being able to brilliant every single game in crunch time and for Domas to triple double every time out. The ancillary guys showing out are only going to make life easier for the 2 stars.

As long as we're gushing, we should also talk about Malik "my name means King" Monk's run at 6th Man of the Year (and Charlotte deciding to keep Miles Bridges and James Bouknight instead) indirectly being the last straw for Michael Jordan's tenure as an NBA owner.

I said this in another thread, but the absolute correct and right thing would be to name Domas AND Swipa as “co-MVP’s”. Especially should our KINGS manage to run down the #1 seed.
Nothing anyone else will have done would outdo what that pair, and this team, has accomplished this season. Especially from where they started.
The NBA and it‘s voters won’t do it, but that would be the right thing.

Love how Swipa steps out of the way in games like this. He is very good at judging when he needs to step it up and save the team or just let them flow around him.
If he sees the offense flowing well through Domas and the cast is hitting shots like they were tonight, he gladly takes a back seat and doesn’t force anything to get his “stats”. Instead, he picks some spots to get to the basket and stop some mini-runs. But that’s about it.
It not easy to find a super star with an ego capable of doing that. The dude really just cares about winning, however it get done.
And so does Domas, who is always in Swipa’s ear telling him when it’s time to go in Q4. He willingly steps out of the way when he knows the team needs Swipa to dominate.
Having TWO super stars with egos like that doesn’t happen often. That’s why this is SPECIAL.
Lastly, getting this W tonight was just like the Brooklyn game. It’s the type of road win great teams get, and the losers like we used to be don’t get.
Great job guys! No go get another against a very hungry and desperate Utah team seeking revenge!
Domas would take 4 shots a game if he could just dish assists to his teammates all game. I think his mentality and approach to the game of getting the *Best* possible shot has rubbed off on everyone, including Fox. And Fox being more than willing to work within the team concept the first 3 quarters of the game, when most of his equals get to control the ball the whole game, shows real maturity and putting aside his ego (and numbers he could be averaging) to win games and be an engine to one of the best offenses of all time. Like you said, they've developed into perfectly compatible offensive stars that are not only willing to play off each other, but make sure their teammates stay involved in the offense and getting work too. That's extremely rare in today's league.

I liked Fox's game tonight. He came out at the very beginning being very active and serious on defense. He also made mince-meat of the the Wizards on interior drives. He made it look easy because like Jerry Reynold's used to say, "It is easy for him."
The guy that I want to get some rest going into the playoffs is Sabonis. I saw some fouls out there tonight that I thought were intentional. On one play a Wizard player lowered a shoulder and just rammed into him. It sure would be nice if the Kings could lock into an upper tier playoff position, give him some down time and let him heal physically as much as possible. The way he takes punishment he must literally be covered in black and blue bruises all over his body.

It’s a pretty simple formula, but one not followed by many. Either because they don’t have the right personnel or the right mindset from their stars.
For the first 36-44 minutes, let the offense run through the post with a skilled BIG to get high percentage shots in the paint AND to keep the other 4 players engaged by knowing that if they move and cut — they’ll also get the ball and shots.
Then in the last 4-8 minutes turn the game over to your lightning quick, fast guard who can create shots for himself or others pretty much at will.
It’s the same tactic, just run from outside in, rather than inside out. And becomes a necessity late in games when it becomes harder to get the ball inside. The offense needs to be initiated by true ball handlers and good decision makers. Sometimes even Malik Monk can be used to do it when Swipa is struggling or in foul trouble.

I am more in shock. It does not feel real. If we won it all I don't know what I would do. Most likely I would sit and meditate on "reflecting" and how after losing the first 4 games of the season I thought "here we go again!". I kept watching though because of preseason. We were blowing everyone out in preseason so I figured we would catch on eventually. At least as a play-in contender.
Tatum is ahead of him imo, but that's it
