Kings vs The Heat 1/12/13, 6 PM

The Game Thread Dude
You think this is over? Ha! It hasn't even begun yet. The true mettle of a city is not displayed in the good halcyon days when times are great and optimism flourishes but rather it blossoms when times are grim and there appears to be no light on the horizon. And guess what, Seattle- Sacramento is all heart.

To all those Supersonics fans finally given a reason for hope and optimism after having your team hacksawed from you like a civil war amputation-
I am genuinely happy for you and were this under happier circumstances, I would be in your circle 100 percent. But, here's the deal, Seattle. You chose the wrong damn team. The wrong damn city. The wrong damn fans. Because you see? We love our Kings through thick and thin. The Kings are Sacramento and there's no way we're going to simply let you change that.

Your plan is a good one, your pockets deep, your passion for your team is nearly as great as ours. It would seem that, like the proverbial stone rolling down the hill, you have unstoppable momentum. Your Sonics are coming back.

But, here's the thing:
You chose the wrong damn team. The wrong damn city. The wrong damn fans. The wrong damn mayor. Because while your plan may seemingly be insurmountable, your intentions good, it'll be a cold day in hell before this city rolls over and simply lets you have our heart. Your plan, your deep-pocketed investment team, your agreement to develop a gleaming state of the art facility might be Hakeem. But Sacramento... Well, we're Kevin Johnson.

And Kevin Johnson, much like John Wayne, always wins.

To my fellow Kings fans-
Do not give up hope.

Times have been dark. They will only get darker in the days to come. But we must never ever give up hope ever. Because when we do, that's when the bad guys win.

We love our team. We love it when times are good. We really love it when times are bad. We may not like it but the Sacramento Kings are a part of who we are just as we are a part of the Sacramento Kings. And nothing that happens in the coming days and weeks will ever change that.

So keep hoping. Believe in KJ. Have faith and never give it up. Because when you do, the bad guys win.

While Seattle may think they've won the battle, we're going to win this war.

Why? Because we love our team.

And love will find a way.

In case we needed reminding:

Let's go Kings. Love will find a way.

well ill be at the game so you guys wont get to read my posts complaining about Garcia and complaining about the lineups. so ill have to get that out of the way now ;)

i know Tyreke has only played 2 games. but he NEEDS to start. Garcia guarding Wade is not gonna be pretty to start the game.

and if i see any combination of Jimmer/IT/Brooks in the backcourt against this team, im gonna lose my mind.

on to the positives. im curious to see how John and JJ do guarding LeBron.

also curious to see if DMC can dominate against the big men of the Heat. he SHOULD be able to, and its our only real chance of winning this.

now that MT and Reke are back. lets pray that Smart actually leaves a couple people out of the rotation

Being at the game hasn't stopped you from posting before???

Kings need to play to their matchup strengths in this game. Nobody on Miami has the strength for Cousins in the post. Also, Miami has no 2-guard that can guard Tyreke in the post. (and for Tyreke that can mean 15' and in). Also, nobody on Miami has the quickness of IT. Hopefully, they don't go away from these strengths and keep it close.

Cousins should dominate in this game. However, the Kings have to be the best team possible for LeBron to play against. He might go for 40 tonight.

Was just at the security entrance waiting to meet the guy I get tickets from, and in walks Mayor Johnson! I took the time to thank him for his efforts. It was a great moment to meet the guy that might save this city.

Wat? You need to be able to play offensively before you can play defensively? Why can't you do both Mr. Coach Smart?

Why the hell isn't Reke starting after putting up 20 the other night?

Somehow Cisco on Wade sounds better to Smart?

You heard Smart didn't you? You apparently can't play defense vs this team so you need to focus on offense! So Tyreke's defense must be a hinderance to us....

Mia broadcast for me tonight. Reke is better offensively than anyone besides Cuz so that makes zero sense.

Not that Smart couldn't make the decision if he wanted to, but ... Tyreke was asked if he wanted to join the starting lineup and he said no, again, so there is that.

That's Reke supporting his teammate. Smart is the one who decides the starting 5 and frankly, he's a weenie when it comes to making decisions.

It looks like they have turbo jets on all their players. So quick running and moving the ball in comparison to us. Pretty to watch.
