Kings vs. Lakers Notes 03/02 (From Being @ the Game)

- I haven't seen a full Kings game this year (to my knowledge), but from what I saw, this team looked as good as the team from 2002.
- Bibby, Martin, and Artest are 3 point shooting machines. Good thing they made 9 out of 19.
- Bibby is SICK.
- Martin is the future.
- Artest tries very hard and it feels like he's destined to lead the Kings to winning a championship.
- Thomas sucks. The points he got were basically open dunks. This guy needs to go ASAP. Can the Kings pay someone to take this guy?
- Williamson forced a lot of ****, but played an ok game.
- John Salmons dribbles the ball WAYYYYYYY too much.
- Brad Miller tried to get a play going or something towards the final minutes of the game instead of slowing the game down. That pissed me off.
- Lakers suck

My gf and I got insulted by a few people and a security guard, but he was very cool. We just joked around and it was good fun. Of course, since the Lakers were getting torched by the Kings, I had to do a lot of cheering. The guy in front of my didn't like that and so he tunred around, completely wasted (he had maybe half a cup of beer) and he started telling me to STFU and stop cheering and ****. Of course, I responded. My gf got me these tickets for Christmas and I'm going to have fun no matter what anyone says. Security talked to him and then me and things were smooth. As he left, he said something along the lines of, "You better hope you can make it out alive" or something. I found that funny.

Kings are 3-1 when I attend the game. :D

I took many pics, but I only feel like sharing the best one I took:

WOW!!! love the pic ehehehehe....

seriously seems like your there...! the quality and lighting are perfect...!

Thanks for the inside info. It sounds to me like Laker fans were completely bitter about getting whipped by us. So in other words the rivalry is NOT dead. It never was for me but its good to hear that the crapheads in yellow feel the same way. :D

I was there as well and I had my Bibby jersey on and nobody said anything to me other than a security guard as well. Some black guy in the front checking my tickets was like "Take that off!!" in a jokingly manner of course. When I was leaving and saw him again, I yelled "KIIIINNNGGSS!" and he just shook his head. My entire row I was sitting in was filled with Kings fans and nothing happened at all. I lost count at the amount of Laker heads in front of me that were shaking their heads.
When I was leaving some Kings fans yelled "Beautiful jersey man!" hah...

I too have a picture of my own....or two....
Jack Nicholson as usual sitting right there

the game was fun... when we went up 20 i tried to start the "kobe mvp" chant.... it didnt work... i laughed so hard...

there was this one annoying kings fan that kept yelling "kobe sucks" and when odom was shooting ft's he yelled shoot the ball kobe...

i was like what the hell is wrong with this dude?

was it just me or were a lot of the laker fans cheering for the kings? bibby hit a shot and they started cheering... it was fun watching them boo the lakers though...

fun game...

Your'e going to get 'those people' that dont know much about the game except for what they want to see on Sportscenter...and all Kings fans, myself included, know that no matter how much of an azz Kobe is in person, he's definetely in the top 3 or 4 best players in the WORLD, let alone the NBA, I'll never like the guy as a person, but I'll never say he sucks as a PLAYER. Good game all around though, especially for the Kings...its a start.

Easy with the "As good as the 2002 team" stuff. They are looking a lot better the last 4 games, but this team is nowhere nearly as cohesive as the 2002 team.

If they all of a sudden run on the Spurs, the Mavericks and the Suns, and perform like they have been against those opponents, then just maybe they've finally stumbled on something.

I went and am going again April 1. For some reason last year I got a lot more crap for wearing a kings jersey than this year?

Me sentiments exactly although with the added point that to be perfectly honest, there isn't even a legitimate way for us to judge Kobe as a person. As far as I know, none of us are really close enough to him to objectively evaluate his character. It's a real pet peeve of mine when people assume the nature of a individual based on how he may act in the context of a sport.
