Kings vs. Lakers in playoffs will never be the same.

all i wanted was for the kings to beat the lakers in the playoffs with kobe and shaq now that aint gunna happen. It just wont be as sweet if the win the title without playing kobe and shaq on the same team. I mean they could play the lakers and heat but those arent the teams that kept sactown out in their prime. I wanted doug to win a championship and vlade to but as hard as it is to say the kings are better off with tag then vlade i cant say that about doug because hes the man and i respect his game to much. But even though there is no more showtime i wanna here someone either webber, bibby or peja say sacramento will always be the capital of california. Because all you real kings fans remember what shaq said and i am still pissed he said that because it was projected at sacramento.

If we get tp play LA and sweep them in PO, it will be worht not sobering up for at least a week.
 
while I would have LOVED to beat the Lakers at the height of the rivalry and when they had Shaq & Kobe (first of all because I hate the Lakers, and also because I have relatives in S. Ca who I would like to shut up), nothing could take away from beating the Lakers in the playoffs. I can guarantee if we win a championship most Sac fans will be on cloud 9 for a long time, and I personally won't care who we beat to get there!

OKay, on behalf of "all you real Kings fans," I think I can safely say I've totally gotten over what the Large Living Room Suite (with occasional tables, standing halogen lamp, area rugs, sleeper sofa, two recliners, ceiling fan, lined drapes, overstuffed chair with matching ottoman, entertainment center, framed picture of Don Johnson and Philip-Michael Thomas, multiple HD-TVs, chauffeur-driven golf cart for room-to-room transport, in-house catering service, hotline to Chad Ford, 120-tall artifical Christmas tree, noisemakers, indoor wave machine and autographed pictures of himself) had to say about our team, our city or us (the fans).

And - gulp - I agree with piksi. :eek: If we beat the Lakers in the playoffs, it will still be sweet because we're still on the way up and they're... well, the Lakers. It's genetic. They're Hatfields and we're McCoys. It doesn't matter if it's Mom or third-cousin Doofus against Dad or fourth-cousin twice removed Gomer. They're still Hatfields and we're still McCoys. Thus it was written and thus it ever shall be.

I might have said it differently, but I sort of agree. I wanted the Kings to beat the Lakers with Shaq and Kobe, I wanted Christie and Divac to win a championship with the Kings. It's disappointing that neither will happen.

But I'm pretty much over it now. I'll gladly take a championship this year for Webber, Stojakovic, Adelman, Petrie, Bibby, Jackson, Miller and Sacramento as consolation.

though beating or even sweeping the Lakers would be o so cool (i just can't get into the way i use to--though im still a Laker Hater)...beating Minny in mind right now would be better...

but F all that lets just win the Championship...woot woot!!

Hey! Looking forward! How about we beat Lakers in WCF and then win the title against Heat? It'll be sweeeeeet!
 
If beating the Lakers with out Shaq, Fox and Phill will loose something, it only be about as much as wining a championship with out Doug, Hedo and Scott will be missing something. In short beating Laker scum is always fun. ANY team in Kings jerseys winning is a good thing.

Wolves, then Lakers, then Spurs, then Heat... Ok with me if they can pull it off, but I wouldn't mind facing the Rockets, Sonics, Suns or Mavericks instead. :)

Thats the problem with us Nocalers... For the SF giants it's always the same, who cares if we win a World Series lets just beat the Dodgers.

I could care less if we beat GS to get into the finals and then beat the Hornets in the finals.

I mean lets think about it, only 1 team can win it all each year. 1

If we make it then I won't feel any loss if the Lakers weren't good enough to make it. As much as I hate LA I would actually feel better to say to all my Facker fans HAH HAH, what your team didn't even make the playoffs?

Perhaps getting a chance to beat the Lakers is in the works (in a 2/7 or 3/6 matchup). You'll have to be satisfied with that because the Kings aren't built properly to win a title.

I thought Gargamel was a Kings fan long time when I found out this site, about 2-3 years ago I think(when i was still lurking). I know you are also a Vlade fan. Right? But that was long ago. I did not know you are a Lakersfan now! Whatever!

I just recognize that Gargamel name, VF21, Bricklayer, 6th man, those names long ago! Who is the oldest member here by the way?

About the topic, yeah, I agree, it will never be the same, I'm not even looking forward for a Lakers matchup in the playoffs, I like the Spurs to be matchup, so that the Kings can prove how a great team they are. No more "we should face Suns, Mavs, Rockets..." we should face right away those tough opponents quickly, so we'll know what Kings are capable of in the playoffs... Wolves, Spurs, Pistons or Heat all the way!

The member that has been here the longest is the board owner, Jeremy. J-Sin is one of the long-time members, as is Bricklayer. I came aboard in 2001. This board has been around for a very long time. It has gone through several names. Some of the original members are still around. Others have gone and have been replaced by newer members.

When we crashed back in August, we lost a lot of the original join dates. The important thing is that we have a great group of people here now...and the group is getting bigger all the time.

Im one of the oldest members. Been here on and off for over 5 years. Theres still a few of us around. But admittedly i havent been hear the whole time.

AMEN!! I'd like to beat them more even now...well maybe not more than 2002, but I would like to see us beat them with ***** *** Kobe thinking he's the reason everyone should wake up in the morning.
