I really don’t think my reaction is irrational. And in no way am I saying we didn’t improve. Because we did. Is it really that crazy to say we played far above our heads and next year will be our legit .500 year?
The team is on the right path. There is reason to have hope. But we aren’t as far ahead of the schedule as it appeared even a few months ago.
To your point on the players... I only worry about Buddy. We were at our best when he was pretending to be Klay Thompson. Is he really that good? I honestly don’t think he is. That’s not a knock... but his highs this year are going to be tough to match.

I think part of that was your typical bust out player having their first post all star disappointment when they don't end up getting the reward they think they deserved. But it must be said that there was obviously some difference in what they expected from Buddy, and the whole team. The team's identity near the end was about getting closer to the rim and Buddy like a lot of the other players was clearly expected to attempt to get to the line and attack the basket a bit more. That coinciding with running less pick and roll through him was a change that I think any guard in his position that was playing as well as he was would find challenging. The interesting thing will be how Buddy uses that to improve in those areas. In the end I don't think his best use is as a high volume slasher. That flying free player that can get you back into games in one spurt from outside is probably where Buddy is going to make a dent in the league.
