[Game] Kings v. Nuggets, 2/19/16 - 7 PST, 10 EST

Unless it was an emergency wisdom teeth procedure (rare, and not usually the case when dealing with millionaires who have constant dental and medical care), it could have been scheduled for any time over the past ~2 weeks.

GO KINGS, BEAT THE NUGGETS!!!!!

It will be nice to see Mike "Dr. James Naismith" Malone patrolling the sidelines in the old barn:)

Really? What did he have to say?

“I’m a competitor,” he said. “Obviously, that team fired me. They didn’t think I was good enough to lead them going forward. That’s their loss. I’m in a better place, I’m working with better people. So I don’t go in there with any animosity at all.

“They gave me a great opportunity, and as an owner you have the right to get rid of people whenever you want. And that’s the decision they made. Ever since I got fired, what’s happened in that time speaks for itself. I’m just happy I’m in a place with good people who communicate with each other, and we’re all operating on the same page.”

Well, I can't really argue that anything he said is incorrect. The Kings made a mistake when they fired Malone and have continued to be a losing, incompetent franchise since.

I still think Divac and Malone would have made a fantastic GM/coach combination for years and years.

For a guy like Malone to say something like that... Man...

If we call out the tank a lot of things are over. I might take about 6 months off myself. see if there's anything I want to come back to next fall. Arenas don't fascinate me. I'm not a cat you can fool with a twinkly bauble.

Luckily for Vivek and the Kings your in the minority.

I had a lot more respect for Mike Malone BEFORE these comments. He got fired and he's at a gig now that he says is perfect. What's his beef? Rick Adelman got fired, too, and you NEVER saw or heard him say anything negative about the Brothers Maloof.

Malone needs to get over it. It's not like he's sitting unemployed under a bridge somewhere.

I am ready to give up on this team this season if they do not come out with some EFFORT AND HUSTLE tonight.

I can't seem to ever give up on the Kings, but I totally agree about the heart, hustle, effort and energy. Tonight's game, to me, is a bellwether on the rest of the season.

Eh, I can stipulate, in the abstract, that he should get over it, but I'm certainly not going to hold it against him if he doesn't. Og knows that my own pettiness is on fleek.

I think Adelman's contract just expired, maybe I'm wrong though.

But supposedly he was so irritated at the Maloof's he wouldn't even pick up the phone or talk to them if it wasn't in person, and basically said, "What are they going to do fire me?"

As for Malone, I'm glad he is saying a bit, but waiting until game day walking back into town. Shows me he's the type to tell you to your face but not cause much drama elsewhere.

Yes, Adelman's contract was allowed to expire but I think my point is still relevant. He didn't bad-mouth the organization despite having every reason to do so. Remember, the Maloofs actively tried to pursue Phil Jackson at one point.

Anyway, there are tons of different viewpoints on this so I'll just say I'll agree to disagree with the ones who see it differently than I. :)

IIRC Adelman found out he wasnt going to be re upped through watching the television

No, that's not true. Peja found out he was going to be traded via ESPN. Adelman was given the news in private because Petrie made sure it happened that way.

I understand better now, yeah he didn't bad mouth them that I can recall, it was kept in house. He had a legit gripe too if you ask me and gave them the silent treatment and most of us weren't aware of things till years later coming from others who knew the truth.
