Another Friday night and another chance for Kings fans to show the NBA their commitment to the Kings. The game itself could almost put the final nail into the coffin for the Mav's playoff hopes. If this happens, be sure to watch what Mark Cuban does in the off-season. He does not like to miss the playoffs.

I'm guessing that, once again, we'll be screaming at the TV over questionable substitutions, icing of hot players, and giving minutes to any players who might have family visiting for the game. And yes, that's cynical. Unfortunately, that's what I've become in regards to Keith Smart.

Let's hope for a good game with lots of Kings fans in the seats. Mike is back and I'm sure Crown Downtown will be there in force, reminding everyone that #WeAreSacramento.

Dallas is tired from a hard fought game in Denver

But, we've got Smart.

So, it should balance it out and still go in favor of Dallas.
 
While we're not where we should be, we're still a team with players on the upswing of their careers. The Mavs, I feel, have players on the downswing of their careers. We play them well at home. A win is possible, but I'm pretty sure we're going to leave Vince Carter open again (or some other guard) to hit something like 10/11 from three point range, because giving the opposing team a wide open three is exactly the last thing they'd expect. Some might say that they're old, we're young, let's run, but I say that they're soft inside. Beat 'em up inside.

Not sure who gets the Dr. Scholl's "Freeze Away" treatment of the game tonight - look to see who starts the third out super hot.
 
ill try to enjoy the game and keep reminding myself that Keith Smart's reign of stupidity is almost at an end. but even knowing that, he still makes it hard to watch the games and impossible not to rant about it
 
I'm rooting for the Mavericks to win this one. Make the Lakers work harder for that final playoff spot, move our draft position up, let ze German shave his beard.
 
I want my son who will be here for dinner tonight to pull out his iPhone, look at it and smile - he doesn't dare tell me the score before I watch. Smile!!!!!!

Now that's one surprise I didn't see coming...
 
Dirk has had a couple duds in a row after an amazing March. I'm pretty sure he goes for 35+ tonight.

Maybe Cousins laughed at Smart and said "hahaha coach you suck, you're gonna be gone next season woohoo!" and went around the locker room high-5ing his team mates.

Knowing Smart, he's actually making this move because he thinks Travis Outlaw will match up better against Dirk than Cuz. Or something of that nature.

You have to give him credit though, for a guy who is auditioning for a next job somewhere he sure has guts in not starting his best player with only 7 games to go.

He's probably going to limit Tyreke's minutes even more as well.
 
i've long maintained that playing for a draft pick no longer makes sense for a team with two young, unique talents like demarcus cousins and tyreke evans. after you acquire those two players, you're playing for growth, you're playing for improvement, and your draft picks are assets that can be used to bring in complementary talent either through their natural usage or via trade. as such, i haven't been in the "Lin v. Woss" crowd since the kings drafted demarcus cousins (and became even less so when the kings' front office decided to squander their last two lottery picks). but i have to say that i'm kinda, sorta, almost rooting for a "Lin" tonight, given that dallas is still very much in the hunt for that 8th playoff spot. they've got tough games against denver and memphis left on the schedule, but the rest of them are against sac, portland, phoenix, and new orleans (x2). i'm pulling for utah to slide up into that 8th spot, knocking the lakers into 9th, but if utah can't do it, then i'm pulling for dallas to do so. given that the kings have eked out another unworthy season of stagnation at the hands of exceedingly poor ownership, management, and coaching, all i have left to root for is the hope of a lottery berth for the los angeles lakers...

Is the game showing yet for anybody on LP? For some reason it's not for me. Other games are working fine
 
Maybe Cuz said something to Smart at some point last game and that's why he was benched for so long after 3 fouls? Did their discussion carry over?
