[Game] Kings v Lakers - 4/26/12

I don't care about this game, I don't want to win it because it's going to hurt us. I won't get any excitement over a win against the Lakers second or third team. If I was Smart I would let Jimmer, Outlaw, Hayes and Garcia play the majority of the minutes. This season is over and a win is absolutely useless.

I would not be heartbroken if the Kings lost. But whoever is on the floor I will root on to do the best they can. If this happens to be the lineup, I can probably root for a win and still enjoy the better lottery odds when the game ends. While the Kings are on the floor, I will not root for them to lose. If I ever wanted to do that for some reason, I just wouldn't watch the game.

I agree. But, for sure, I would not be mad if at the end we lose the game. At this point I'd like to see the bench guys getting minutes. Add Donte and Tyler to that list. With this guys, we can try hard for a win and still get the lin. With our starters in the game getting regular minutes, I don't see how we can lose this one.

No Gary at the game tonight. Gave my ticket (and my pop gave his) to brother, and his GF. NFL draft tonight.. More important at this time than the NBA :)

But I will have the dual screen going with the Kings, and the Draft coverage! The game should be starting as the coverage is winding down though.

BEAT LA! GO KINGS!

We are in a three way tie for the 3rd worst record.. From the 3rd to the 5th is like 8% or something to get the #1 pick right? Yikes.. All three teams lose tonight there will be a coin flip? We lost last time, so I see no difference this time. We should play to win.

I'm rooting for the Kings to win, the same as I have for every single game since 1988. **** the rest of y'all.

Look at it this way -- the Lakers do indeed have a chance to screw us over once again...and they are taking their best shot at it by throwing out an embarrasing lineup of scrubs designed to destroy our draft prospects and keep us bad forever. So the only way to say "**** you" to them is to beat them at their own game, take the loss, draft a stud, and stomp on their ugly little heads next year. ;)

Honestly, versus that starting five, it may be hard for the Kings not to win.

But this team is always surprising me.

No thanks, I prefer my plan: stomp on their ugly little heads, draft a stud, anyway, and stomp on their ugly heads next year.

I hope a lot of Kings fans shows up today to block out the Laker fans because the LA radio today basically was making fun of how games at Arco are really home games for the lakers anyways.

And this is possible. As I thought the team would be doing better this year, any decent draft pick is a bonus. I never expected us to be this awful. We definitely will end up with a decent draft pick. The only difference is will it be a real good one or a spectacular one that plugs a hole in the lineup.

Edit: I can add, that predicting the future of 19 year olds isn't always that easy. Even drafting can be a surprise like how IT turned out. Where we finish has to do with statistics but predicitng how our pick turns out is not a science.

"Outlaw coming into his own late in the season."

Ugh. Hopefully that doesn't mean he is our starting 3 for the next 5 years. :p

Did Smart just there's a lot of positives to take from this season? Also said he accomplished almost everything he set out to do? Funny how he brought up how many close games we lost, which is directly related to his horrendous sub patterns, where even if they're semi-competent we probably win a good number of those close games. Notice he didn't mention defense once, either.

Hung his hat on Cuz's performance, which I believe has more to do with anyone but Westy coaching him, than it has to do with Smart all the sudden developing him. It's not like his talent wasn't there in Dec, and was all the sudden developed in Jan. IT was a steal and has played well, but aside from Cuz and IT, the only other positive he brought up was JT.

Anyone see this on the court?

That's cool.

Well, the time for Smart to "tank" was before the opening tip off. As long as these guys are on the court, there's no point in rooting for them to try and lose on purpose.

is it just me or do we have no priority or hirarchy in our half court offense? its pretty much seems like the players decide when they want to shoot or pass no matter what their role is supposed to be.

I agree, and players never try to lose either. Think it also shows he was never trying to tank, which says something else, but will keep it at that in this thread.

I have a bad feeling we are going to wose this one.

We're playing a team in blue and yellow, but we're not playing the lakers. To me, a win wouldn't mean as much if it wasn't against Kobe and a Laker team trying to win.

By them tanking so hard, it almost is like them winning, cause they'd be screwing out of possibly 5 spots in the draft. Never been so many spots riding on a single game to end the season.

I hope we gracefully lose, but play well.

lol thats why theres only 10 ppl screaming beat LA in that thread. this game is meaningless.

I really want to lose now...Its just too important. Even if we don't get Davis, with a top 3 pick we are going to get someone good. Especially with Petrie doing the drafting. With a 6 or later we will still get talent but the chances for a franchise turner are next to none.
