I'm rested; I'm rejuvenated; I'm READY!!!!

It seems like forever since we've been able to watch a game. But sometimes rest is good. In this case, our guys desparately needed a break and I hope they've had a chance to regroup and get themselves back onto the right track.

I've totally redone the entire Kings shrine. I had time to decide the PERFECT spots for the icons. I've washed everything that could be washed, and dusted everything that couldn't be washed.

This is a new beginning, so to speak. Whatever happened before the all-star break, the Sacramento Kings are still one of the top teams in the league. They are still capable of doing great things. A record of 34-20 is NOT reason to give up all hope.

**COMMERCIAL BREAK** We have a great family here at Kingsfans.com because of the generosity and dedication of our owner, Jeremy. If you would like to help defray the costs of keeping Kingsfans.com up and running, consider becoming a Contributing Member. You are under NO OBLIGATION to do so, of course. Check the stickied thread at the top of this forum for additional information. **END COMMERCIAL BREAK**

We have several options available for you if you want to discuss the game with other Kingsfans members while it's going on. You can participate in the game thread started by piksi. You can check in at chat at mIRC, server: irc.bludgeon.org, channel: #Kingsfans. In addition, you can catch live game audio feed of various games at www.thegamelive.com As a note, however, most times this is NOT the Kings feed. It is the feed from the opponents. Some people like it, others find it really irritating to have to listen to the game from the other guys' point of view.

A little over 4 hours until game time.

AND...

45 hours, 8 minutes and counting.

:D

GO KINGS!!!!

Koz and Kara for the usual pre-game stuff outside section 112. Nothing earth-shattering or no late-breaking news, at least not so far.

Now they're showing Ticha in Denver. I'm sorry, but I don't care. None of the Kings were there, I really don't care about whether or not a Monarch player was there to cover the festivities.

Hmmmmm...

Apparently I may still be harboring some issues.

Now they're talking about Rivalry Week.

A lot of comparions between the Mavericks and the Kngs:
• Lively, involved owners
• Good fast-paced offense
• Fans
• International flavor

Okay, I guess. It's just gonna be really hard for me to accept the Mavericks as rivals, but it's only because I've hated the Lakers for so long. Can I really HATE more than one team with that much intensity?

I don't know but I'm willing to find out!!

GO KINGS!!!!

Another reason why they are the King's rivals is because we have faced them 22 times in the last 3 years ( I might be wrong, but something around there.)

We have faced them a lot in the play-offs is the reason!!

Now, back to the matter at hand:

I think the second quarter is going to be the most telling of tonight's game. Once the adrenalin, etc. has worn off and the teams are getting down to business. What I'm really hoping to see is a lot of focus and energy and determination.

Grant and Jerry are talking to Marty McNeal:

The Kings haven't shown what type of team they are yet, but they could well do it in the next few weeks. They have the talent if they can utilize it.

They have to become better defensively. They have to eliminate unchallenged lay-ups and dunks. They give up a free lay-up every quarter and there's no reason for that. If nothing else, they should have four more fouls.

Rick Adelman has said he was going to play Tag, but he hasn't done it. If you have a noticeable weakness and you have a guy who can address it, you have to play him and take your chances at the other end.

I don't have a problem with the Kings playing zone. They haven't had much of a chance to practice it, though, and a bad zone is MUCH worse than a bad man-to-man. Adelman hates the zone. The fact he's gone to it already shows desperation.

I think it's a week to week proposition to see when Bobby will come back. We won't know how effective he's gonna be. He's not gonna come back after not playing for three months and have rhythm. But I'll take his energy off the bench any time. He has three months of pent up action inside him.

I really believe there are 6 or 7 teams who can win the title. It's wide open. The injury factor can pop up at any time. If there's any team destined for good luck, it's the SAcramento Kings. Sacramento has to show they can improve defensively and then it's a matter of challenging any team out there.

Pedja is capable of playing much better than he's played this year. Getting him back on the floor is something people forget about. You can't leave him open when he's on the court. It's an automatic spacing problem when Pedja steps on the floor.

Rebounding is a defensive penalty for Sacramento. KIngs are giving up 100 points a game, if they rebound better that goes down to 93 or 94 points a game. Can they take care of it is what we need to find out.

What we've learned over the years is the Kings are a much better team defensively in the playoffs.

END...

Tape quote:
Cuttino: You have to go back to the drawing board and look at what we've done wrong. If teams are scoring 110 or 103 points against you, that's the problem right there.

................

I certainly can't disagree with the Cat about that!!!
