More than one even. Never mind the draft misses, if we'd just kept the players we
did draft and stuck with Coach Malone we'd be a lock for the playoffs and probably home court advantage in the first two rounds this year. This whole situation would be a lot easier to take if it was simply bad luck. The only bad luck involved really is that we've been saddled with the worst kind of leadership and there's nothing we can do about that as fans but hope things get better.
The good news is we
will have other stars and there will be plenty of reasons to watch in the future. This is another rough patch for the Kings but just watching college basketball this season you can't help but be overwhelmed by the quality of talent coming up. Trae Young, DeAndre Ayton, Marvin Bagley, Collin Sexton... these kids are all having historic Freshman seasons. Not to mention Luka Doncic looking like potentially the best International prospect ever. Just look at the 49ers this season for an example of how quickly a team can turn it around. They were a complete joke -- just terrible on every level -- then they make one trade and future Hall of Famer Jimmy G has got them thinking Super Bowl as early as next season. I don't know what form hope will arrive in when it comes, but when it does all those mistakes will be a lot easier to accept then they are now. I haven't been getting involved in the discussions much this season because I haven't been watching the games so I don't really have anything of value to add but it'd be great if we didn't all hate each other by the time the team is winning again. Wherever you stand on the optimist/pessimist and pro-tank/anti-tank spectrum it's important to remember that none of us is responsible for this debacle, we're just fans with opinions and we all want a team worth cheering for. It will come, eventually.
