Initial impressions:

Jason Thompson is capable of great things. He's athletic, he's FAST and he's enthusiastic. He does need to work on defense but his heart is there.

Donte Greene is gonna surprise people. Once he gets some experience, he should be getting us up on our feet for a long time to come.

Bobby Brown hasn't done much yet. He's also quick.

Kenny Thomas is ... (I promised not to dump on anyone this early in the season)

Garcia looks more settled and confident.

Salmons didn't go iso hardly at all.

Hawes has enthusiasm, heart and a pretty good half-hook. He'll grow into the role.

All in all, I'm loving what I'm seeing and, more importantly, what I'm not seeing!

As far as Portland goes...

Rodriquez and Fernandes are good.

Greg Oden is gonna be comparable to Shaq in his ability to grow roots inside. There aren't many defenders who will be able to move him off post.

Joel Pryzbilla makes me ill.
