I don't know which I enjoyed more - the duel of words between Jim Gray and Bill Walton or Grant Napear's attempts to keep up with the red-headed HoF star's ceaseless and oft-times meaningless babble. When you add in the fact that our Kings actually won and we saw some good minutes from T-Rob and a balanced performance by Cousins, last night's game was well worth the watching.

Tonight, the Kings tip off in Portland in an attempt to get their first road win. Tough assignment but it is doable, especially if the Kings can find a way - any way - to slow down the blazing (yes, I went there ;) ) Damian Lillard.

It's been fun again to be a Kings fan. I actually haven't thrown anything at my TV in almost a week (if not longer).

If someone can find a way to keep George Maloof from throwing another monkeywrench into the good feelings, this could be a good time to be a Kings fan. (I do, of course, have several ideas but aside from not being legal, they're also logistically improbable).

GO KINGS!!!

I'm sure hoping Tyreke is feeling better and saved himself to shut down Lilliard. That said I thought Cisco played pretty well last night starting at the 2. He gives it all on defense and can hit the 3. Brooks and IT are quick enough to stay in front of Lilliard.

Lets hope the Refs let the Kings big men play tonight. I think JT, DMC, Hayes and TRob can out muscle the Portland Bigs UNLESS the refs get crazy with their whistles at the least bit of contact.

Go Kings!

I hope garcia gets some more playing time, I feel like there's much more ball movement with him in. Hayes and Garcia are doing well with assists.

we just can't do that, assuming Reke is back. The rotational chaos has already cost us wins this year. We just can't keep on adding in more random elements. I generally appreciate Cisco's roleplayerness, but if he is going to play it has to be in a permanent rotation spot, not in some more of Smart's let's throw more random junk on the floor every night and see what sticks lineups. You can't play 11-12 every night.

Chris Paul had this to say after Thabo Sefolosha shut him down a couple of weeks ago: "What happened to the good ole days when point guards guarded point guards?"

Who said one of IT/Brooks (let alone Fredette) need to guard Lillard? Tyreke is the obvious option to guard him, but I'd be curious to see Salmons and even Johnson give it a shot.

This is an important game. Somehow we won the last one which surprised me given that Reke didn't play. A win on the road could mean good things for the rest of the season. Maybe somewhat near what I was expecting. Not sure that a loss means much but I sure don't want one. :)

Talk about the beauty and the BEAST! I need to go throw up!
I wonder when George rolls out of bed in the morning, apparently having slept in that suit, and stumbles out the door, if he thinks that's actually a good look. Maybe he's amused at being rich enough he doesn't have to give a **** and still gets to hang out with beautiful women and just likes to press that envelop.

If our starters can equal or better Portlands starters this should be a easy win, considering Porltand has close the the worest bench of all time and makes our bench look like the current Clippers bench.

Brooks and IT are quick enough to stay in front of Lilliard
They are quick enough to stay in front of anyone yet every game this season they have not been able to

Random thought: Anybody wish we had signed Ryan Anderson during the offseason? He's been excellent this season especially considering his shots aren't as open as they were when he had Dwight Howard pulling defenders away from him.

Not really.

The dude's scoring points for the Hornets simply because someone on that team was going to have to score points somehow, especially since Anthony Davis caught Greg Oden disease. Having him on our team would only make the JT/Hayes/T-Rob minutes jam at the 4 spot even worse.

Would have signed him and not drafted T-Rob. Would have drafted Barnes instead. This team needs good shooters in the worse way.

Sure we'd get good shooting but at the expense of a lot of the things that PFs are supposed to do.
He's actually rebounding better than Jason Thompson and is a decent post defender. We wouldn't be losing anything and it would have cleared the paint for both Reke and Cousins offensively. JT would have been our first big off the bench.

Debatable.

As with the points thing, Anderson may be grabbing boards simply because someone has to. His frontcourtmate isn't exactly a rebounding machine (Lopez is pulling in a whopping 5.3 boards a game in 28 minutes a game).

Were screwed. No Tyreke. Thanks a lot keirilenko
If that's true the timing of this is just terrible. But of course the timing has been terrible for us for 6 years. We just get a hint of momentum, and the one guy we need to be there, and need to continue playing well to maintain that momentum, goes down exactly on time to threaten it.

Please Marcus pull your head out for this one.

That's what we get for not signing him ourselves and not having a good enough coach that'd he'd consider playing for.

I do question how bad Reke's knee is, given there's been no reports of him sitting out practice. Or was he practicing when he shouldn't have been? He did practice the day after the Minn game. Maybe dealing with plantar fasciitis screwed with his mind and he's now overly cautious. I doubt Kobe would be sitting out.

I have a bad feeling about tonight.

Reke did his normal pre-game warm up before Orlando game and found he was not able to go due to swelling and tightness in the knee. What I worry a bit about is the "swelling." Normally, swelling in the knee that doesn't go away in about a day means there's some kind of internal damage. It might not be serious but it could mean more than just "day-to-day" which is what Kings are calling it at this point.

Somebody needs to guard Batum tonight -and not one of the Kings tiny guards. Now Coach Smart says Evans "might play" - game time decision.
