I would LOVE to see Eason on the Kings. Rockets have too many young guys that all need minutes and extensions at some point, so I'll stay hopeful

With the news that Houston is interested in Barnes, that makes them a perfect three team partner with us and Portland. We would need to send out Barnes in any Jerami Grant trade, and Portland would likely have no interest in Barnes. So how about (this works on Trade Machine):
Kings Get: Jerami Grant and JeSean Tate
Kings Give: Barnes (Houston) Davion (Portland) Duarte (Portland) Kessler (Portland), 2026 FRP (Portland)
Why: Upgrade Barnes to Grant, at the cost of a FRP. Also get a look at Tate, who is a guy I have long thought is a nice bench big wing.
Blazers Get: Mitchell, Duarte, Kessler, Victor Oladipo, 2026 FRP (Kings), 2024 SRP (Rockets)
Blazers Give: Grant, 2030 SRP (Houston)
Why: Get a FRP and decent SRP for Grant, while also unloading his entire $27M contract to create cap space to build around their young guys. Oladipo, Mitchell, and Kessler are all expiring contracts, and Duarte has one more year. Immediately frees up $23M in cap space. Also get a chance to take a look at Mitchell. They give up a distant, protected second round pick to satisfy the rule that every team has to touch every other team in the trade.
Rockets Get: Barnes
Rockets Give: Tate, Oladipo, 2024 SRP (Portland)
Why: upgrade Tate to Barnes at the cost of a second round pick this year (probably low 40s). Barnes gives them more veteran leadership and shooting than Tate, and they could use both of those things.
Maybe the picks are off. Maybe we need to give more picks, or maybe Houston does, but the structure of this trade, with the involved players would be a win-win-win I think.

He does know that Tyrese exists right? If he signs a deal with the Pacers he is all about being the number one option on a team.
He does know that Tyrese exists right?
yeh but I think Siakam would be their number one option as far as shots taken.
They’re not taking the ball out of tyreese hands for Siakam
No, but Siakam will become the primary focus of his dishes.
Shams and Amick just released a story on Siakam trade for Bruce Brown, filler and 3 first round picks!!!! They didn’t say it was done but that is the deal. Wtf?
I wouldn't hate the Kings getting in on it and somehow landing Brown instead of Siakam.
Keon was measured at 6'3.5" without shoes, so he's 6'5" on the court. Grimes also has standing reach of only 8'4", 2" shorter than Ellis. Grimes is not a better rebounder, shooter or passer. I didn't write that Keon is better, I just don't see much of an upgrade.I would disagree with you. Grimes is a big step better than Keon. He was a starting SG last year and one of the league's better defenders there. He was a 2nd year player who was a starter on a playoff team. Grimes is a good shooter who's more consistent than Keon (who has hesitancy with that shot for some odd reason).
The biggest difference is their size.
Grimes' size and strength allows him to guard most SGs and some wings, but Keon is limited in his matchups.
- Grimes is 6'5 210lbs with a 6'8 wingspan.
- Keon is 6'3 175lbs with a 6'8.5" wingspan.
The money also works if we send a package of Barnes, Vezenkov, Mitchell, & Duarte for Grant & Thybulle. Obviously we’d need to add picks but the amount of picks and protection on the picks would be the deciding factor if I’d prefer to include Huerter.https://x.com/deswtf/status/1747396026074628241?s=46&t=XHl6MkQyOm3Zbk1mBBrooA
If this is real this can be key for us to getting Grant and Thybull, they want barnes for shooting we can also throw them Huerter. Giving them both would help there shooting and both guys aren’t on bad contracts as well as Huston not having bad contracts. Houston doesn’t have there pick this year but they do have Brooklyn's 2026 pick we could try getting houston to send a 2027 first to Portland for barnes/ Huerter while not losing rotational players
Houston: Barnes and huerter
Portland: Tate, Landans, Jeff Green, Oladipo, Houston’s 2027 1st rounder, Sacramento 2026 1st rounder,
Sacramento: Grant and Thybull
Adding Grant/Thubull turns us into a good to great defensive team overnight that matches up with eatery team in the league. Our spacing will still be good having an elite shooter in Keegan, a decent shooter in Thybull (37%), and Grant (40%).
Well said! I take more than I give around here. The amount of selfless contribution in this community is incredible. Much love to y’all.I wanted to express my appreciation to the contributors in this thread before the Trade Deadline arrives. The amount of thought, effort, and research that is evident in many posts are quite impressive along with most of those posts detailing the logic behind the proposal. It has been a positive educational experience.
After the Trade Deadline passes, the tone of this thread will likely change dramatically. So "good on ya'" to this point. May everyone get their wish (or at least something close).
I’ve come around a bit on that Siakam deal for Indiana. He must have told the Raps he would at least consider re-signing with the Pacers if he is traded there. They have 2 picks in the ‘24 draft, both of which are in the 20s. The draft is considered to be rather poor. So give those up plus a protected ‘26 pick. Bruce Brown doesn’t seem to fit there so no major loss.
I mean, it's still an absolute metric-crap ton in a trade. Word is they're dealing Obi and Nwora too in the deal.
Even if Siakam was on a long-term deal, it'd be a pretty hefty price-tag imo. But with all his reports that he WILL test FA? Man, lot to risk.
