no way Smith is worth that much
Sorry, totally brainfarted and thought the tweet was about Bridges.
no way Smith is worth that much
I just read three pages of Kings Fans trade suggestions and didn't see anyone suggest PJ Washington. What's going on?
just reading in Hoopshype that many team executives believe Chicago will need to give up draft compensation just to get out of LaVines contract.
Not sure how desperate things are in Chicago but I was a bit surprised by that.
Judging by Chicago’s record and everything I read it appears they want to blow it up and start fresh.Is it that Chicago want to start completely fresh project , or it is money issue ?
More or less trying to get rid of all star level player sounds strange at least

IMO the KINGS need to stay away from the likes of Zach Lavine and focus more on OG or Siakam, maybe even Malcolm Brogdon.
Siakam is likely too cost prohibitive contract wise, but OG and Brogdon seem like bargains except for the compensation that it would take to land them.
Lavine is not only cost prohibitive contract wise, he also is a defensive liability. I think the KINGS have enough of those types already.
I know Brogdon and Sabonis are ex teammates and good friends, so likely established chemistry, but isn’t he primarily a guard, a position where we’re solid. I know, LaVine is also a guard but not quite the defender.IMO the KINGS need to stay away from the likes of Zach Lavine and focus more on OG or Siakam, maybe even Malcolm Brogdon.

I think that leaves Finney-Smith as next up for me.I’ve thought about this more lately and I’m currently out on Siakam. 4 straight years of poor 3 point shooting, his best attribute outside of scoring is probably passing. Operates in the same space and has some overlapping skills with Sabonis. Costs too much. I don’t think we land OG and if we do it’s because we stupidly traded Keegan. Lakers have the best trade package for Lavine and there are plenty of things not to like about him. Everyone in the league wants Caruso. One first round pick from us won’t get it done and they don’t need Davion. For me that leaves Derozan because of the skill set that allows us to give different looks on offense and the likely lower price or we ride out with the guys we have and look for help in the offseason. Still time before the trade deadline for some team to collapse and a target shake loose.
I mean he is always a solid option/fit for us, and he is now on a great value contract making $46.5 mil over 3 years as a 25 year old (while Barnes got $54 mil over 3 years as a 31 year old). Not to mention Washington’s contract declines over time.I just read three pages of Kings Fans trade suggestions and didn't see anyone suggest PJ Washington. What's going on?

I think he’d be an excellent fit here with his size, length, defense against PFs, rim protection, and shooting. His age (30) is what makes him not ideal for me, but I like the idea of trying to pry him away for Mitchell, Duarte, and a couple 2nds. You could have a rotation of…
PG - Fox (34) / Monk (14)
SG - Huerter (28) / Monk (14) / Murray (6)
SF - Murray (26) / Barnes (22)
PF - Finney-Smith (28) / Sasha (10) / Lyles (6) / Barnes (4)
C - Sabonis (34) / Lyles (14)
Fox = 34 min
Sabonis = 34 min
Murray = 32 min
Huerter = 28 min
Finney-Smith = 28 min
Monk = 28 min
Barnes = 26 min
Lyles = 20 min
Sasha = 10 min
If we’re playing against a bruiser at C, you could potentially swap Sasha’s minutes with Len/McGee.
DFS is exactly the guy we should be going to get. Under contract for next season with a player option for the following year as well, so we'd get some long-term use out of him. But I keep harping on this; the Kings don't need another offensive focal point; you let Keegan develop into that role naturally. And while he's struggled this year with the shot, you see how all the tools can be there for him to be a 20 PPG scorer very easily very soon.
So many fun lineup combinations you could do with DFS in the mix.

I don’t really see a trade this season that works for both sides while also making the money work, but he’s a guy we could revisit as a trade target in the off-season.
Davion Mitchell & Chris Duarte for PJ Washington works money wise in the off-season so we’d just need to negotiate over draft compensation to get CHA to bite on the trade.

I haven’t watched one Nets game this year. His defensive rating is around 119 if any stock can be put into that. Is he still above average on that end?
I am in the swing for a star camp as the West is as wide open as it can be this year. I am happy with any of Grant/OG/Siakam and less enthusiastic about DFS or other role players.
I don't think we need a star at all we just need this tough 3-4 guy that can guard wings and be passable on offense
The only issue is the stats back it up. No Fox, or Fox not going off and it's a tough W. Has been for two seasons. Right now, I'll take Monte's word for it, shoot for a star. If that's not a real possibility then he'll move onto other things. If it's OG then the idea of Keegan and OG is probably the most tempting since that's insane D at F if Keegan keeps it up. Hopefully his back issues aren't from being in a defensive stance and being ping ponged off screens all night.

I just think toughness is something this team needs more than anything.
I think we have enough people that could score at will in theory, that would be Fox Monk probably Davion (he can get a shot off against anyone with his elite quickness) Keegan with time and honestly probably Domas too.
I think this team needs to improve in the mental aspect basically someone that's going to make them a little tougher
