Why would they do that though? Why would Lamarcus want to go there with no Bledsoe? If he did the Kings should jump all over that because chaos or not playing with Cousins and Gay gives him a much better shot at winning.

Maybe because our franchise is a mess and Phoenix is not... Maybe because we could never get a FA like LMA. Maybe because Phoenix just spent tons of money on Knight and Chandler, and they believe Knight is their PG going forward. Who knows.

- Josh Smith - Smith/Moreland/Trill round em up around DMC and we make sure no one drives easy
- Belinelli - Creates space for our bigs (legit SG)
- Rodney Stuckey - Can run in Karls 2 PG system (should be cheaper than Rondo)

People really haven't been paying attention to Vlade, but Vlade absolutely got his right: Karl likes to play 2 PGs together for long stretches to maximize ballhandling. Been a recurring pattern his entire career. And actually in the history of great centers, a great many of them also have had 2 PG types in the backcourt. Helps run the offense and keep the feeding going.

We were still very low in assists last year. The way Karl would normally correct it is for 2/3 of his 3 guard rotation to be PG types.

Shots actually have to go in to count as assists though. I just can't see the Kings getting a ton of value out of Ellis as a 3rd option. If he's not the 3rd then he's usurping the role of a better, more efficient player in the offense. Then on the other end you're small and not very defensively oriented in a world of legit size at SG these days.

If 1 of those pgs is useless without the ball or can't shoot anywhere on the court that's not gonna help the team.

Many great centers have had precisely that two creative guard backcourt to help them. Hakeem had Kenny Smith and Vernon Maxwell. Ewing had Harper and Starks. Shaq had PG of the day and Kobe, or JWill and Wade. Its a common recurring theme.

He's a roleplayer, not a star. And one that had maybe his best season working for our current old craphead of a coach. He also can bring uptempo defense if sufficiently motivated. And hence for instance Corey Brewer or DWill, I'd take Brewer.

In other words Patrick Beverley is probably closer to the requirement than Rondo is. Boogie also has decent second option at SF (or PF, i guess, at this point), so creativity from guards is even less of a requirement. Adding Monta just doesn't make any sense whatsoever, unless he plays as a scoring PG.

We still haven't heard any suggestions, who slots at SF, if Rudy moves one position up.

Just read through all of the pages since the news broke. I think Philly got a good deal but I don't think the draft picks should be as upsetting as they may seem. We're trying to win now, if it doesn't work and we loose Boogie in a few years then that's when the full rebuild starts and we'll get back some of those assets anyway. I hate that we had to give away so much, especially Stauskas but I understand it. We're the Kings and because of that we have to make these kinds of moves to if we want to improve. I'm not high on Rondo or Matthews at 15 milion. He SHOULD go cheaper because of his injury and the fact that he'll be 29 when the season starts, but hard to see that happening with the money being thrown around. I do agree that we need another big now, Koufos would be ideal but would like to go after Ed Davis as well. I would be ok with Brewer or Beverly, Reggie Jackson too but I don't know what his qualifying offer is. My guy is that we will have to get Rondo unfortunately in order to lure another name or two. Wine and dine them with the new salary cap and arena next year maybe. I'll also say that I wish we could find a way to fire Karl and hire Thibs right now and go all the way with the culture change.

Not upset with the draft pick situation AT ALL. This should be considered peanuts once your a legit contender. We dumped the garbage left on this roster, and I expect to be in the playoffs every year, not continuously in the lottery. So if this is the risk we take, I'm all for it.

If we get Matthews, and any type of upgrade at PG, we automatically jump to a playoff team if healthy IMO. Personally, I would like to keep Ray and Moreland rather than shed the contracts. They are already cheap, and I think they are serviceable young projects.

IF we sign Matthews and Rondo however, would we have enough cap to grab Koufos and another role playing SF? Like a Brewer or Rasual Butler?

If so, that would make is ready to contend or be in the hunt for the conference IMO.

There is no question that we need to overpay to get these players to sign with us. We always needed to do this even more so now given how much of a mess we are. Not sure who is available from PF/C that will be cheap and consistent rotation guy. Jordan Hill, Ed Davis etc are all guys that would fit bicely BUT I think we won't have enough money left over to get them if we get our two biggest targets. Then there is the question of can we re-sign Casspi as well. Interesting times ahead.

If you're Wesley Matthews, you have to give the Kings serious consideration do you not? They are looking like the best fit RIGHT NOW for him.

Mavs are relying on cap space, which they haven't been able to fill, and Chandler Parsons lol. They have an aging roster, we have a younger one ready to win.

Raptors have a log jam at SG/SF now.

Knicks just overpaid Afflalo.

Why not the Kings? Even without Rondo signed, and Collison as starting PG.
