This is exactly how I feel about the move. Let's get Cousins IN the playoffs. Let's see his eyes light up at the prospect of carrying a team when it really counts. He's the kind of player that needs that challenge. A real, tangible challenge.
We've pushed our chips into the center of the table. It's about time. I know people love looking at the top 5 prospects of 2017, 2018, etc, but it's time to take that next step, and with the boneheaded move made earlier in the year by the FO, they cannot afford to hit that reset button one more time before opening a new arena. We need to be a .500 team next year. At least, and this is the quickest way to get us there. I would rather overspend now where we are limited by a smaller cap. Time will tell if it was the right move, but it was certainly a lower risk move than some are making it out to be. My main concern is moving JT, because he had more value here than people thought.
If we're worried about swapping the #3 pick with the #5 pick with Philadelphia next year, we have bigger issues to deal with. Way bigger.
