Kings to Pursue Rodney Stuckey

Could have been. Nik was our best candidate, but he really never came around even when given late season minutes.
Hopefully Nik had it in him to make that next big step this year. He needs confidence in himself and that comes with time(hopefully). Getting stronger is his other need. Can't wait to see what Nik brings in SL.

Like this move a lot. Very Similar to bringing in Sessions, which was a fantastic move last off-season. Absolutely no one could have predicted a consistent 6th man/fringe starter like Sessions, who had been one of the best guys in that role in the NBA his entire career, would have fallen off a cliff like he did with his production. Doesn't mean the signing at the time was bad.

The 2nd unit desperately needs a lead option and playmaker. Stuckey does that well and can play SG, which is an added bonus.

Not sure what a Bledsoe deal would look like, but if we went into next year with Collison, Bledsoe and Stuckey as our main guard rotation, we massively upgraded one of the weakest (if not the weakest) backcourt in basketball.

It was obvious, the original article was a plant by his agent, and after reading a bit through PacersDigest, I can see the reasons. David West walking is a very real possibility, which leaves Pacers with $10 million in cap space, Room Exception and 1PG/no PFs on the roster. Pacers are in need of a starting big, and attracting one will likely cost $7-8 million this off-season. This would leave under $3 million, whether via cap space or Room Exception, for Stuckey instead of what looked like MLE money before.
