Welcome to the playoffs, fellow Kings fans!!!

First, please take a moment to read the important message stickied at the top of the forum. I'll wait...

Thank you.

Now, a bit of a clarification. It seems there was some confusion about what channels would be carrying today's game. Our game, starting at 2:30 p.m., is on ESPN. Although the Bee this morning says it will also be carried on News10, I have to wonder how that will happen since ABC (the parent network for News10) is currently broadcasting the Wizards-Cavaliers game. I don't think a local channel can opt out of the network offering in cases like this. Maybe they'll switch to the Kings game as soon as the first game is over, but my DishNetwork programming guide shows this game until 3 p.m. and then PGA Golf on News10.

This is the play-by-play thread. If you're new here, this is our way at Kingsfans.com to provide a description of the game as it unfolds for those members of our board who cannot see or hear the game any other way. It is NOT the game discussion thread. We ask people NOT to post comments in this thread as it is not meant to be interactive.

We do have a game discussion thread. Started before each game by our renowned piksimist, it is always an active place for Kings fans to enjoy reacting to the game as it progresses.

In addition to the game discussion thread, we have Mr. Slim's CHAT PARTY LIVE over at mIRC, server irc.bludgeon.org, channel #kingsfans.

**A note to Spurs fans: We are here to share the enjoyment of watching a Kings game with other Kings fans. You are like guests at our table. If you mind your manners, you're welcome. But please remember this is first, last and always a KINGS BOARD. We do not want our excitement and enjoyment of our game marred so please refrain from doing anything that you would not like if the tables were reversed. At the risk of sounding redundant, this is a KINGS board. We're the Internet version of Arco. We've come together here to root for our team.**

I've got coffee brewing, I'm wearing all my lucky Kings gear like a long-sleeved Kings t-shirt, my Bibby jersey, my Kings socks, and a Kings knit cap. I have my Kings blankey on my lap - yes, it's cold up here again. I have my purple Kings bear facing the TV, as well as my Vlade beanie bear. (I will NEVER remove him from his place of honor on the top of my computer...) My sole active player bobblehead - Brad - is standing next to the Vlade bear (I'm hoping if Vlade bear needs to he can whisper tips in Brad's ear).

It's a good day to be a Kings fan!!!

Apparently there's a lot of confusion about News10 and ABC. Hey, I couldn't care less at this point. Selfish or not, I'm worried about me and I have the pre-game stuff going on right now on my ESPN.

Getting ready for the tip...

Oh, God. Ron ARtet is hurt.

Manu Ginobili hit him in the face with an elbow. He went down, stayed for a couple of seconds, and then got up.

It was on a place where Manu cut inside towards the hoop. He hit Ron in the face with the elbow, went and got the bucket. The OFFENSIVE foul was called.

They have now taken a full time out.

Artest was up and being examined as they went to commercial.

They're still at commercial. I don't know if it was Ron's nose or upper lip that was hit. I do know that Manu used an elbow to try and get away from Artest.

Well, at least the talk about being "Cinderella favorites" will pretty much die down...

I'm very sorry but I've had to babysit the game discussion thread because one or two people don't respect this board or the other member enough to follow the rules and maintain at least a modicum of civility.

Not that the PBP matters much.

The Kings have been totally blown out of San Antonio today. If I had to point at one difference, it would be depth. We have little, the Spurs have a tremendous bench. They are - as has been said - a team built for championship play. They really are THAT good.
