On November 24th 2001 Kings barely survived Nets winning at home 98-97 improving to 10-3 for the season. Kings played that game without Webber and it was Vlade who stepped up and had a moster game by Vlade standards. Pedja lead the Kings with 29/3/3/3, Vlade had 18/19/7/2, Bibby had 16/3/3/1 and DC had 10/4/5. Since RA trusted his favorite 7 man lineup - Hedo had 8/4 nad Bobby had 13/6/1/2. J Kidd had a tripple double. Good teams always find ways to win - and that is what Kings were.

Kidd recorded his 40th career triple-double with 16 points, 10 rebounds and 12 assists. He nailed a 3-pointer with nine seconds remaining to pull New Jersey within 96-95. But Stojakovic made two free throws at the other end. Kidd had a chance for a tying 3-pointer, which would have been his third overtime-forcing shot in the first four games of this five-game road trip. But with Bobby Jackson in his face, Kidd's shot was way off. Keith Van Horntipped in the rebound at the buzzer.

Mike Bibby contributed 16 points for Sacramento, which improved to 7-0 at Arco Arena. The Kings had won their first six home games by an average of 21.7 points.

"It was exciting," Bibby said. "We could have put it away a long time ago, but that's why we play the game. They kept fighting. It's not over until the buzzer goes off. We were lucky we pulled it off."

Kings back to 0.500 at 5-5 after choking one away to extend the losing streak to 3 games and to suffer a first home loss of the season. After the first 10 games kings are where they are expected to be - middle of mediocricy unfortunately even far away from the Lakers. Things don't get easier from here as Kings are getting ready for a "back to back" with SEA & POR being very shorthanded and also having to deal with a bad loss. The character of this team will get some early tough tests. Will see how we will be able to handle this.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
It was such a bad loss last night. One that makes You lose sleep. It was so bad that even this site collapsed for a while:eek: which I tought was perfect timing because there were at least 50 "we all are going to die" threads coming up lined up in minds of very frustrated members of this small but very resistant community. Yes, ladies and gentlemen (and couple of lakers fans) - we have survived worse. Much, much worse. And chances are - it won't end here. No reason to quit being masohist now.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
I think - I have mentioned this many times last season but it appearently never gets old. Bad teams find a way to lose. They never quit looking for it and never give up. Usually, the persistance "pays off" No matter how impossible the task seams to be and no matter how little the chances of losing are - they find a way to do it against all odds. Even if there isn't a way to do it - they invent it. No lead is safe, there is always enough time on the clock and everything that can go wrong - goes wrong. Bad teams don't have to beat only the opponent but they have to beat themselves which is much harder. The antidote is the veteran leadership provided by players that are used of winning because winning is a habit and so is losing. When Bibby left the game there were no "winners" left on that court. That is where the game was over.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mike Bibby is the "brain" of this team and it is the only one we have. Looking around the league - we could do better but we could do much much worse too. He is the whole brain. When he is out or not functioning well - we won't win much if any. Back in the glorius days we had a 2 headed monster (Vlade and Webber) which was hard to kill because one brain was always operational. When both brains were working at the same time we were - invincible. Back to prestent times - it is too obvious that we can't replace Bibby - not even for a game. without him - everything falls apart with speed of light.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Makes a good transition to a kind of player - I call - "anti brain" and we generally call Ron Artest.
A great talent, star player and extremely useful for a team as long as he is controled. You unleash him and it won't end well most of the time. There is a saying that "fire is a great servant but a horrible lord". Absolutly true. Now, Ron does way too much for us to make him non factor in certain situations. We can't and shouldn't do that. However - he needs to be controlled and Mike does that by having the ball in his hands. with all due respect I would not let Ron being in charge of a traffic control during a NASCAR race because chances are - he would screw up the left turns somehow. I mean - would You let someone who has a mind of a 6 year old child - run a country ?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Saying all this - I am not addvocating the idea of givin the ball to Kevin Martin down the strech. He is not there yet and we have to hope that he isn't going to suffer from "Pedja syndrome" by passing up responsibility and not being able to hit a shot he usually makes. There has got to be way to gradually get Kevin to a point where he would be comfortable in the 4th and productive too. There has got to be a middle between ignoring him and overexposing him. I hope that we find some kind of solution here. Keving has come a long way and there is no reason to question his capabilities to produce under pressure down the strech. Maybe all this wouldn't be an issue if we hadn't have Pedja.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It took only 10 games for me to question musselman's capabilities to have control over his team. He got outcoached twice inthe row and only mitigating factor is the fact that he has several injured players. As I said before -winning is a habit and so is losing. Rick Adelman has won troughout his whole career. Never gone all the way but always won. Musselman just started his career and the jury is still out but I find some things irritating. Might just be me.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We dominated Jazz to the point where we lost Bibby and then everything has fallen apart. jazz scored 37 in the first half, 34 in the 3rd and 39 points in the 4th quarter. We were fine while we were able to trade baskets but then they made some stops and we couldn't make any to save our lives. We made Williams and Boozer look like Stockton and Malone of old. Our amazing defense limited Jazz to 55% from the field and we only got outrebounded by 14. i am not even sure why we were able to keep it this close.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
AWARD TIME

TDM award winner is R. Brewer. He is the new Milt Palacio
LW-VC award goes to Giricek. too bad he didn't play and shoot more.
JHA award goes to mo taylor (intentionally not capitalized). he is the only player who is capable of not having any stats whatsoever. Why did we get him again?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Seattle is next and I think that it might be a good idea just to forfit the game before DFF (who seams to be injured at the moment0 takes care of the rest of the healthy bodies that we have left. The suck worse than we do in terms of not defending but Ray Allen had been struggling as of late so You know what that means. It would be great if we could bounce back but if Bibby doesn't play - we might be in for a long night again.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bibby - hope that there is nothing serious wrong with Mike's knie eventhough we can still catch Memphis for Oden sweepstakes
Ron - we need a higher dosage on those pills.
Kevin - the game is 4 quarters long
Brad - is he still alive ?
SAR - property of C. Boozer
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
KT - by theory oif big numbers he is due of a game where he doesn't suck too bad.
Price - nice job kid. We could use some more. Say Hi to Boozer !
Corliss - lot's of nothing in 16 minutes
Cisco - that was better but not enough
Salmons - get well soon
Mo Taylor - enough said
rest - mateen
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Muss - what the hell are You doing out there ?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Let's hope that DFF doesn't play. Allen and Lewis will get theirs. Too bad that Brad won't be able to say "Hi" to Luke. It will be a "no defense" afair. TDM might go to Petro or Collison. LW-VC award will go by DFF by default if he plays. Other than that - might be one of us this time. Mo Taylor will winJHA if given the opportunity. Hard to believe that we can win this if Bibby doesn't play.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hope You are having a good holiday - eating away the frustration from the last night. Don't worry about gaining weight. After the holiday - just go on th "Kings diet". You can lose 21 in a quarter.

LOL at the "we are all going to die" remark! ;)

I'm not sure we're going to be in the playoffs this year. Of course anything could change, but I somehow don't see it happening.

Lets hope we kick sonic ***!

GO KINGS!!!!!

^I don't know, last year wasn't a GREAT start at the beginning of the season either, but I think we might be 7th or something in the playoff race, plus, when we get rid of all the injuries, who knows we can make it to the top. Never lose hope.

Although I'm already getting nervous about this game too, we can't make it a 4-game losing streak:eek: . All we can do is hope and be loyal Kings Fans.

GO KINGS!!!:D

This was painful and hilarious all at at the same time. :D :o

Before I say this, I'll remind by saying I'm a pessimist, but I do not think the Kings will make the playoffs. I love my team, but they look bad.

What scares me, is that when things start going bad, Muss actually looks like he hasn't got a clue about what to try. Not confidence inspiring.

Oh well, still love my Kings! Go get 'um and stay out of Fortson's way. I bet he could injure a King even if he is on the bench. ;)

Thanks, I needed a laugh! It only hurt worse because my language was restricted...I was at ARCO with my daughter's BDay party!! Don't get me wrong, they had fun! They were on TV, got to watch warmups under the basket, and she got the Happy BDay on the Jumbotron. I just really wanted to break something!! I probably haven't been that mad since Amare's Goaltending non-call!

I think he is because they just showed him in the starting line up.

That usually means he's playing ;)

LOL

Thanks for the info! I can't believe he's playing, though! omg. Left thigh contusion. Same injury that caused Salmons to miss some games...
