Kings sign Sim Bhullar

Sim has some fundamental skills. But he is so out of shape thay your can see that he won't be able to make those moves in a real game because he'll be out gas constantly.

He nreds to lose about 30 to 40 before he has a chance to stay in the league.

The challenge with a player like Sim is we don't know if it's a matter of losing 30-40 lbs. He may still be too slow and immobile to be an NBA player. It's why you stick him in Reno and see what happens.

It's not mutually exclusive.
I agree it is NOT mutually exclusive. One must admit however that SIM is a natural marketing tool for a Basketball starved INDIAN Market. If he NEVER plays a regular season game, he still serves a marketing purpose. If he does show some promise, he can develop in Reno as a future backup Center. I am willing to bet that every preseason Kings game will be must see tv in New Dehli. That is money in the Kings pocket. And the merchandising is gravy in Sri Lanka... Every Indian Kid with a Bhular Jersey !!

I totally agree. I don't have a problem at all with the Sim Bhullar signing. :)

Great points. Let's not underestimate that value not only for the owner's pockets but for the health of the franchise and it's ability to spend money to win. It's all connected. This is a way to essentially become a "big market" team. And yes, players can make endorsement money internationally.
