Kings' Schedule - the mileage

Hi everyone!

Has any of you seen this?

It seems we, like the rest of the passific teams, are traveling longest distance in the league (Except for those poor Blazers).

The Kings actually have the 3rd worst mileage toll in the league, after POR and GSW:

Interesting, but seems to make sense, as the spacing of teams out west is generally farther apart than in the east. This means that even for teams in your division you are travelling farther for every game than the teams back east (except for Sac - GSW and LAL-LAC). Especially ones along the coast!

Where did you get this? We generally make sure to give proper attribution for stuff from other websites, including SI, ESPN, etc.

It looks like the data here are an average across several seasons. Since the NBA doesn't do a truly balanced schedule this would probably fluctuate (just a bit) from year to year based on the actual schedule, though that's a minor point. As Warhawk said, this isn't terribly surprising given the relative density of teams (and population) in the eastern and western portions of the continent.

On the other hand, we'd fare pretty well in average game-day temperature because we play 47 games in California. Sure, the games are played inside, but you've gotta go out in that stuff to get to the arena! Brrr!
