Kings rumors..... Not!

I read as many of the rumor sites I can on a regular basis and almost never see any rumors related to the Kings or about Kings players. In a way I miss others longing for Kings players but I really like Geoff Petrie's approach of keeping everything close to the vest until we need to know. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Lack of rumors, I mean. Frustrating, yes but his track record is hard to argue. Thats all. Just a random thought waiting for the playoffs.

I've made this observation myself and concluded that the lack of rumours is a direct result of locker room cohesiveness and management sensibility (Petrie and Adelman having been players and knowing the effect of back biting statements, real or imagined amplified by the press) and, carried forward, even when it is plain to all that the Kings must make a move it's always a surprise when they do and who is involved.

It is frustrating when you see so many rumors and you feel no hint of what's happening with the Kings. But I really like that RA & GP play it that way. I'm sure there's been problems in the locker room at times, but its clear that most of the time the team keeps it to themselves. Builds trust, I think.

If I were a GM and GP called, I think I'd tell my secretary to say I'm out of the office. And I sure wouldn't play poker with him.
