[Game] Kings @ Rockets - Saturday, 12/5/15 - 5 pm PST, 8 pm EST

Karl just stands there doing nothing. No passion. No voice. No leadership. No inspiration. What a terrible hire.

And Cousins was awful too. Terrible body language. Tried to play hero ball at the end. Doesn't even try to get defenders off-balance. Just charges straight ahead in waiting defenders. That's not winning basketball.

Pride will only carry you so far and when the basketball concepts and principles aren't there it won't carry you nearly far enough nor for very long.

That's why I think George Karl needs to go. He has zero interest in coaching defense and we have zero chance of making the playoffs without a coach who cares about the whole game.

How did Karl turn so many of his teams into playoffs contenders without any interest in coaching defense? That's what I want to know. It's like it's suddenly gone...or the team just isn't buying in.

We're 3-0 on the season when we hold opponents to under 100 points. That should give us a clear gameplan of what we need to do to be successful. Who's going to put in the work now to make it happen?

The Kings have proven over and over again that by going small with this roster and previous rosters AND previous coaches, it leads to some crap records. Whomever the next coach is needs to be a guy who wants to go big, play to our strengths, AND puts defense as a priority.

There was a play at 98-95 all that epitomized the Kings season. Rondo and Ben were weak side defenders standing like statues. Harden was pounding the ball. Beverly and Ariza were hanging out at the three point line. Beverly curls along the baseline and Rondo stands in one spot and completely loses his man and no one says anything. Ben notices Beverly running along the baseline and takes a step to trail him. He leaves Ariza even more wide open in the corner to catch an easy pass and make a 3.

Two guys totally oblivious at the most critical juncture of the game right in front of the Kings bench!!!!

A turnover and another 3 turns a 3 point lead into 3 point deficit and Kings never get closer. This is what BAD teams do. And we have seen it all year. BAD communication. BAD coaching. This was more than a missed assignment. It was intentionally trying to let the opponent score without giving a damn. Or just confusion beyond belief.

I can accept losing when you are outclassed but when you out-hustled and out-prepared and out-coached and you give away points through JV level basketball it is disgusting to watch.

So George just said that he thought we weren't that bad defensively tonight???? I'd like to see him fired at the all-star break when our record is like 10-31 or something

Cousins air balls a three and the second one after that barely hits the rim...so then in a sequence we see jump shot after jump shot being missed. Followed by trying to bully his way into a wall by the name of Howard who is a excellent defender and just cannot score on him in any which way he tries. Cousins took himself out of this game, as usual, not the refs.

I regret my nba league pass purchase immensely.

I might tune out for a while. I really get so depressed by this team it's starting to affect my personal life. At this point, the Knicks are looking like a solid backup team to watch while we underachieve again, not to mention I really like Porzingis.

The Kings have been terrible for a 1/3 of my entire life. I became a fan in 2003, so I really missed the boat with the awesome old days. Fan for 12 years, 9 of which have been lottery seasons. Just throw me a bone every once in a while. Make the suffering worth it!

How long did the Warriors fans have to suffer before they became a playoff team with Baron Davis, Stephen Jackson and company? what about after they left?

George Karl just said on the radio TWICE in the same interview clip that tonight was "NOT A BAD DEFENSIVE EFFORT."

F that. I am done with him.

Really? Yeah, he's lost touch with reality if true. Time to go.

And the sad part is, it's exactly what our owner wanted. He listened to the wrong people and we all have to suffer with the results.

At this point, Vivek has stepped aside and let Vlade do his thing so I can't go and complain about the owner even though the culture he established here upon his arrival was frightening enough and still hasn't changed. One would hope Vlade values defense more than pace and does something in the off season.

Can we fire George Karl already? Seriously. He doesn't get it. He's never going to get it. If we give up 130 a game he'll still be talking about taking better shots.

Yep. When he came off the bench he tried to dominate the offense which is a total misread of time and situation. The offense was humming along nicely. He needed be a cog in the machine. Not try to be the machine.

It was impatient and stupid basketball. And sort of a carryover of the frustration that was mounting all game. He allows 1st quarter and 2nd quarter (perceived) bad call and bad play to carry into crunch time. It affects his demeanor and judgement. Its a loser's mentality.

The focus of a winner is focusing your energy on what you can control not exhausting energy on what you cannot. Cousins has the mindset of a loser in that he diffuses so much energy in a perpetual state of angst that could be more constructively directly. Its kind of pathetic.

Vlade may be running the show, but if we'd kept Mike Malone we wouldn't be having this conversation right now. Vivek's biggest mistake was letting Chris freakin' Mullin choose our front office personnel. That was the beginning of the end for intelligent basketball. I'm glad he's taking a back seat now to people who actually know what they're doing but what ever happened to holding staff accountable? We've got 61 games left, there's still time to turn the season around but only if we make a change soon.

I don't really see what they can do at this point in regards to personnel. What coach wants to come here after all these head coaching changes? I'm thinking Thibs wants a off season off just to clear his mind and take a break from basketball and give head coaching another go next season. In the mean time, we can talk about Malone, Mullin and Pete all we want but they are all gone and now we have to live in a state of mind where anything and everything this organization does will be observed with a magnifying glass because patience has worn thin with the players and more than anything...the fans.

The only kind of winning Cousins has been exposed to was that in the Olympics last season. I figured that would help mature him a bit as a player and start bringing a different mindset to the game. That didn't happen and it's the same thing that continues to happen. He has to be the easiest all-star player to take out his game because smart teams know what's going to get him furious and what you then see is reckless abandon.

The loser mentality is all he knows...I can't blame the guy. He doesn't know what it takes to win in the NBA and all he can really go by is what his peers feed him and Rondo being his anger management counselor.

GK: I think video will say that it was not a bad DEF game. The pace of the game was extremely fast. When you play fast you give up points”

This is what I thought I heard. While he's technically correct, I've got two points to make:

1. Did you lose your brain George?
2. His definition and my definition of good defense is not the same.

This season is doomed.

I don't like all the double teaming we do. We leave shooters wide open because somebody dives down to double. Most cases it's not needed. For instance Rudy pulling off ariza to help casspi who had harden trapped on baseline. Result pass to ariza for easy layup. Or Ben pulling all the way to the paint to double off the ball harden had it at three point line kicks it over for wide open three.

It's virtually impossible to "turn things around" in a positive way towards consistent success, when someone's attitude is negative 'most' of the time. Whenever an adverse challenge presents itself, it's always a 'downer' and draining to everyone on the team...including the coaching staff.

Until the outlook and attitude changes, the odds will always be stacked heavily against
