Kings Playoff Standings Watch!!!

Having most of our remaining games against the teams trying to pass us could be a good thing. We're sitting at #3 right now which means they all have to knock us out of our spot. It means we control our own destiny. Is this Kings team up to the challenge? We'll find out. Having Mike Brown on the sideline gives me confidence that our leadership is sending the right message. And if the team isn't up to the challenge in the regular season than we know how the playoffs would have gone anyway. Sooner or later you're either good enough to hang with the best or you're not. And if you're not, the sooner you find out the better.
I would rather find out later than sooner :)

Jokes aside, making the post season will be good for the team's growth. Our core is set for the next few years. We have to see the likes of Keegan (and hopefully, Davion, Keon, Queta, Kessler) show improvement to improve as a team. Yes, Monte needs to work some more magic, but growth by these guys will be the surest and lowest cost method to improve. A post season run will help in all of it.

They are an interesting team for sure. Dame is playing out of his mind right now and Simon has been good as well especially from 3. Sharpe has had 3 straight impactful games and if they somehow unlocked something with Thybulle they might have something.
Nurkic is always a tough matchup for Sabonis. Physical play doesn't work against him

I like watching the lost game column. The standings say the kings are so many games ahead in the race behind us. But we have a 4 game advantage over the 5th seed and a 3 game advantage over the 4th seed.

If we keep breaking even with teams behind us like we just did with the mavs and coming out ahead on what games we have with the bad teams it will become very hard to catch us.
You can never erase games in the lost column as many of those teams behind us have to play each other including our kings. so if we can stay up over the next 10 games we should be In a pretty good position for the last couple of weeks.

Scoreboard watching games to note for 2/14 besides our own game:

Warriors @ Clippers (TNT)
Wizards @ Trail Blazers

Light schedule for tonight, tomorrow seems more packed for the Western Playoff race. I’d probably be rooting for the Clippers tonight. Hope the Wizards can beat Portland but I doubt it.

And GSW down 12 to LAC heading the the 4th. Which I think is mostly good.. bank as many Warriors losses as you can before they get Steph back, even though LAC is closer to us in the standings. Them and the Pelicans I think are the biggest threats to push into a top 6 seed from that group

It's too early to root for the Mavs, Clippers, and Suns to win against the lower seed teams at the moment. It's not a foregone conclusion that they will pass us up in the standings quite yet.
Here's the thing, how valuable is it for the Kings to even try to hold onto the 3 spot if the first few games against your direct competition are any clue about how it's going to be? Fox getting burned up prior to the playoffs doesn't do anybody any good. If those teams win, they win. I think Brown needs to get the expected ones and prepare. The Kings seems to do well on the road anyway.

Warriors 124-134 Clippers
Wizards 126-101 Blazers

Two good results in my opinion. Obviously East beating West is always good. And I’d rather the Warriors continue be stuck in play-in territory and have the Clippers gain on us than have the Warriors get into the top 6 fight as well. Gotta have the Warriors rack up losses with Steph out, too.
