Kings Per 100 Possessions -- The Shooting Guards

Bricklayer

Don't Make Me Use The Bat
basketball-reference.com has popped up with a new fun little subsection for player (and team) stats per 100 possessions. The great advantage here being that per 100 possessions corrects for both minutes played and for pace.

I thought a comparison of how our guys look vs. the rest of the league might be in order. So here are all the fulltime starters, with all our guys at the position added in:

TSefolosha 12.2pts (.517TS%) 7.0reb 3.0ast 2.5stl 0.5blk 1.7TO

Did Tyreke end up playing most of his minutes at SG for the Pelicans? I didn't really follow closely enough. Either way, those are some fun numbers.

Mclemore had a historically bad rookie year, lets hope he is taking this off-season serious.

The only player to have a lower PER their rookie year and play more than 2000+ minutes was Junior Harrington since the 3pt line was introduced.
For comparison, Adam Morrison's rookie year:

Adam Morrison 20.6 (.450TS%) 5.2reb 3.7ast 0.6stl 0.1blk 2.9to
Mclemore 16.7pts (.485TS%) 5.5reb 1.9ast 1.0stl 0.4blk 2.2TO

And just because:
Mateen Cleaves 16.6pts (.458TS%) 5.3reb 8.3ast 2.0stl 0.0blk 5.6to <-rookie season

Hopefully for the team's sake he can turn it around. However, if we stick with Thomas I would bring in a veteran 2.

look at these stats, we obv have to keep usage rate in mind. this year, our sg didn't have to put up a bunch of points. he had to get lots of rebounds, assists, steals, etc.

if the kings had shumpert or seholosha, the two bottom guys, they would have been way better.
