[Game] Kings @ Pelicans, 2/1/21, 5pm PST, 8pm EST, Beer o'Clock Nawlins Time

Buddy is 3-9 from 3 and also 3-9 overall. Last game he was 6-13 from three and 6-15 overall. A few games back it was 5-11 from outside and 5-12 overall.

I've made this point before but it wasn't just that Hield's outside shot wasn't falling early in the season, but also that he's almost exclusively looking for 3's. Very rarely is he attacking closeouts to get to the basket or get fouled, he doesn't backcut on overplays or read screens where he can curl into the paint.

And when he DOES take 2's his percentages are underwhelming this season.

He's gone from a guy improving as a scorer to pretty much solely a shooter and it's lessened his impact.

Was typing my Buddy post as Bags got tossed. I'm not sure either T was warranted, at least from where I sit. Wonder if he said some magic words?

Is it just me or is Buddy taking a MUCH higher % of all his shots from 3 this year than in previous years? And, if so, is that schematic? His choice? Still too small a sample size to make too much of?

It's clearly by design. Walton playing big like that often leaves Buddy as the only real spacer.
