Tyreke can't be the SG, just can't. Teams just play 5 feet off of him. The Pacers are back to 4 bodies in the paint and the lanes are GONE.

Smart will get what he wants one way or another, Reke at SF.
I really want to see a Reke/Mt backcourt, and I don't understand the hesitation, given IT has been pretty poor, is not creating shots for anyone, and Brooks/Jimmer have been considerably worse than IT.

It's not like IT/Brooks/Jimmer are playing like pg's. They're playing like undersized combo guards looking to score. Then we get into the spacing issue with both Reke/JJ off the ball.

Is it possible to cut everyone except DMC, Reke, and MT? I mean, everyone.. players, coaching staff, owners, commentators, ball boys, etc?

You want to keep Hayes and JJ, they can flourish and be hugely important in the right role. Need more role players to do the dirty work. Offense has been sketchy but watch JJ on defense. He's as good as advertised and even better because he has solid understanding of positioning as well. He needs to play more PF.

Maybe this is the Maloofs way of quietly slipping out of town.

"We'll be so horrid, that when we do leave (for real) even the diehards will not care one iota."

IT is better than this but you're right. In the first 3 games the best "PG" plays I think we've seen have been from Tyreke. Tyreke is what he is and he can be very useful in the right system. The Triangle is a perfect idea, but can the coach teach it? Maybe he can I don't know.

This is what happens when you have a team full of ball handlers with nobody to pass it to Petrie.

No to Hayes.

JJ I agree with, he just needs to know his role on offensive and not get in the way of Reke, DMC, and MT. Only time he shoot the ball is when he's wide open.

This actually shouldn't be shocking. It would explain the crap selection of coaches they've had the past few years.

This is my concern, and am thinking of starting a thread for it.. there is only so many years in a row you can be horrid before even the most die hard fanbasse starts to erode

It's not just Reke has been our best creator, but Cuz has gotten his best looks as well off Reke, running a two man game. Why are we going away from what puts our top two players in the best position to succeed?

Defense isn't just steals and blocks. I suggest you watch the defensive possessions, I know a lot of people around here don't understand it unless it makes a noise, or gets put in the stat sheet but if you can't recognize Hayes' impact defensively you're really missing out. The guys good and so far this year he's looking like the guy advertised when he was signed.

i agree his 1v1 defense has been really good. Much better than last year, problem is, he is a liability on the offense end and teams will sag off and bother the other guys.

the Reke/Cuz pick and roll can be deadly if executed properly, either one of those guys coming hard to basket is a nightmare for opposing teams.

I agree with this. Everyone seems to forget the success that a Tyreke/MT backcourt had at the end of the season when MT first joined up. Last year the Tyreke/MT scenario had problems mostly because Salmons was utterly useless as an NBA player. I think with JJ in there at SF, it will make a huge difference.

Tyreke and Cousins can have all the plays run through them, with Tyreke handling the ball. MT can keep the floor spread and hopefully get a lot of open looks due to Tyreke and Cousins.

IT can come in and lead the 2nd unit.

I know that the team got together over the offseason and there were reports that chemistry was greatly improved...but, i just dont see it. The guys look like the dont like each other and it shows in the way they play

Not trying to be racist (due to the fact that I am black lol), but watching and listening to the player interviews, the on court presence (or lack thereof), I really can't recall seeing a team with less IQ and basketball IQ EVER than this Sacramento Kings team. Every little bit of luck they get is based purely upon the opponents defensive lapses (which are extremely rare) and the players pure physicality.

I would love to see more diversity in the roster like in the early 2000's.

On that last position, instead of running out he pointed and said go get him JT. Then when they missed, he couldn't even box out go get the rebound. He's useless and can be replaced. A few good defensive positions doesn't make him a keeper along the likes of Reke, DMC, and MT. I'd rather keep JT than him.

Jimmer can change all of that if given the opportunity.
