Which is exactly why we just might see Gay/DWill instead of much of Thornton/Ben...
Would not count on it. Gay's length is effective against the shooter types of SG but his size could work against him when he's facing guards who like the ball in their hand. Ironically, those are the types of players Ben seems to have more success defending (see Westbrook, Russell and Irving, Kyrie).

Lots of good match ups in this game... Looking forward to seeing how our squad does on the road.

I predict a hard fought W.

This is true. Gay had all kinds of problems guarding Evan Turner, who's more of a SG.

How has DeMarcus done in previous matchups against Roy Hibbert?
Last three games averaging 32% from the floor and over 5 games 18.2/14, did great first two meeting had rough shooting nights last 3 including a 9/27 last year where he missed lot of easy ones.

in my mind, the kings need to utilize demarcus cousins and isaiah thomas to get roy hibbert into foul trouble if they're going to have a chance in this game. all of the hullabaloo over hibbert's defensive prowess is precisely because he's a master of avoiding excessive contact while protecting the rim. in 30 mpg, he only averages about 3 fouls. that said, cousins needs to face up hibbert as often as possible and take him out of his comfort zone, and thomas needs to use his quicks to get to the rim, putting himself in a position to draw contact from hibbert when he slides over to help...

george hill is certainly a good defender at the PG position, but thomas shouldn't have any problem getting by him, particularly in the pick and roll. elsewhere, hopefully rudy gay will have some success containing paul george, who's slumping just a tad right now. but lance stephenson scares me as an x factor of sorts. he's exactly the kind of player who, if motivated, will absolutely carve up the kings defense on the way to the rim. the pacers kinda present nightmare match-ups all over the place, and i suppose that's to their credit as the best team in the league...

I also reckon the Pacers will attack Cousins early with ROy which could be a good thing, Roy is super clumsy and Cousins knows how to draw a charge and easily has the quickness while being strong enough to bang with Roy. I would not mind seeing Cousins flop early once or twice.

Last year Cuz averaged 17.7 ppg and 16 rpg in games against the Pacers but he too many bad shots (averaged 6-19 shooting) to get to those numbers. In Particular, Hibbert's strength and length gave him fits down low. This game will be a great bench mark for how much DeMarcus has evolved his game.

Hibbert averaged 11 & 8 with 4 blocks in the three games against the Kings last year.

Is there anybody that thinks that D Will can guard two guards? (other than VF21)? He has a hard time guarding mobile 3s, much less mobile 2-guards.
Not me and I also will not go so far as to assume that's what she meant. Remember the other thread about assumptions. Hmmm??

Probably the only game on the schedule where I see the definitive loss before the game. We can usually compete with anyone but it would take a borderline miracle to do something with this 18-1 home pacer team. I see us making it a tight game until mid/late 4th, anything else would show high improvement

No but Rudy Gay is smart/long enough/can recover quick enough to be able to do it while Williams guards 3's

Ernie/C-Webb/Greg Anthony on the NBA TV pregame show with huge praise for DMC.....

Webb says he is bar non the best big man in the NBA right now.

They also showed a stat that only 3 players in the league are averaging at least 20pts/6reb/3ast/1.5stl are Kevin Durant, Paul George, and DeMarcus Cousins

CWebb better be a homer. :) I was disappointed when he didn't become a member of the ownership group. If there are only three guys with those stats, how many qualify if you boost the rebounds to 9 or 10? Boogie is your basic jack of all trades EXCEPT he is a master of a couple things which makes him an amazingly skilled and versatile big man.

BTW, I am very much looking forward to this game. I highly suspect a loss so I am going into this game without a thought to being critical of whatever we do. I want to see us maintain as much of the momentum we have as possible. I hope the thread commentary doesn't devolve into a critique of everything negative as it has in the past including the defensive problems of our two guards, a tendency towards selfishness from IT (which I think he is working on, BTW) and the normal criticism of whatever looks inviting in JT's game.

Go Kings.

And if we win????? Listen for a lot of noise coming from Citrus Heights.

Webb went on to say that although he believes Demarcus SHOULD be there because of his skills, he won't be there because of the record of the Kings.

I think that is what happens when fans vote but coaches get to vote and if they leave him off, they can turn in their NBA coach membership card.

well if thats the case then Anthony Davis shouldn't be there either, or Joe Johnson, Carmelo Anthony, etc. Even Kevin Love's team is only 18-19 but he is an all-star lock
