Huh? What if Muss got them into the playoffs? Would he deserve it then? Did Flip Saunders "deserve it" when he got the Pistons into the playoffs after Larry Brown?

Coaches shouldn't have to live up to or live down to the legacy of the previous coach. Once Adleman left, that's it - time to move on.

Yet again I will make this point.....this is far from the same team we had last year. Bonzi was playing for a contract and Ron was playing to redeem his image. If not for Bonzi playing out of his arse we would have been swept by SA in the first round. Kevin Martin has played great but he doesn't provide alot of what Bonzi did at the end of last year and in the playoffs. 25 points and 12 boards from your shooting guard .....YIKES

As great as Bonzi's performance was in the playoffs last year, his absence this year is not the reason our record is so much worse. Bonzi played well in the regular season too, but nowhere near the playoff level. He also missed lot of time due to injuries.

Also, while Ron's off court issues have had an adverse impact on the team, his on court performance has been excellent. The main reason for our record is the huge drop in performance from Brad and Bibby.

I don't know what the reasons for this are. Both guys might just be losing it (which is really sad, since both of them are not old. Also, there was so much promise at the beginning of the season, with reports of slimmed down Bibby and Miller who was in shape due to practising with Team USA). It might also be due to the fact that Muss failed to efficiently use them.

It might be unfair to blame him for the bad performance of both these guys (he did get a better year out of Corliss than Rick), but one thing is quite certain, in that he has lost the team. He seems to exercise little authority, and the team chemistry is not good either. Given that he had to quit under similar circumstances in Golden State, I guess his record in team and people management has to be questioned.

This team is very similar to the team that went to the playoffs last year, and I defy you to take Bonzi's regular season performance last year over Kevin's performance this year, overall. To ignore Rick Adelman's input into the performance is completely blindered. Without Adelaman, they wouldn't have even GOTTEN to the playoffs, as you can see this year.

As the saying goes, all good things come to and end. Its not even as if I can tout my vindication, as I would much rather have seen the Kings excel and make the playoffs rather than be right about the offseason changes and their likelihood to succeed or lack thereof.

And the odd thing is I'm not sad about this. I was sad when Chris Webber was traded. I was sad when Vlade Divac was not re-signed. I was sad when Doug Christie was traded. I was sad when Bobby Jackson was traded. I was sad when Rick Aldeman was fired. This season is about me being apathetic.
