George Karl is heading to Denver for the first time since being forced out by the Nuggets two seasons ago. The Sacramento Kings coach might not have his top three scorers in his attempt to beat his former team Sunday. Karl led Denver to nine consecutive playoff appearances and his 423 victories in eight-plus seasons were just shy of matching Doug Moe's team-record 432. Karl had captured his first Coach of the Year Award after leading a young Nuggets squad to a franchise-best 57-25 record in 2012-13, but lost in the opening round of the playoffs for the fourth consecutive time and was let go in the summer.
