Hall of Famer
On April 15th 2005 Kings won in LA against the "lottery" Lakers 115 - 106 to improve to 49-30 for the season. La played without Kobe (personal reasons = they sucked so much so he crawled in a hole and cried) and Kings lost Pedja who injured himself after scoring quick 14 pts in the first 8 minutes of the game. Bibby lead Kings with 26/5/7/2st Cat had 23/4/10, KT had 15/9/3, Pedja had 14 pts. Bench was solid lead by Mo who had 16/6/3/2 and Corliss who chiped in with 11/5/2/4st before he fouled out.

Kings leading scorer Peja Stojakovic scored 14 points before leaving with 4:22 remaining in the first period when he strained his left groin. He did not return and his status for Saturday's game at Phoenix is uncertain. "It's tough with Peja not out there," Bibby said. "Peja opens up a lot for everybody else. When he's out everyone steps their game up." "I don't know what it is," Adelman said. "I know they said that it was a pull. They said it was mild. I don't know what that means so we'll just have to wait and see."

Lakers guard Luke Walton scored 10 points and collected career highs with 12 rebounds and nine assists. In the final 30 seconds of the game, Los Angeles interim coach Frank Hamblin called at least two timeouts to set up plays for Walton to get his 10th assist. "They told me I was one assist away," Walton said. "It wasn't during the game. We were just trying to win the game. At the end, when we were down with 20 seconds to play I threw it to Dev (Devean George) trying to get it, but during the game I wasn't really worried."

Kings @ 41-38 decided to be too proud to take the 7th spot by giving up 17 point lead to the Suns. Also they put themselves in a complicated position where in a worst case scenario - the lottery is still an option. Magic number is down to 2 a win against the Hornets would take care of everything. This team has enough experience to come out of this mess but then again it also had enough experience to blow a 17 point lead at home in a crucial game. 7th spot is not out of reach but realistically, we should only be concerned about making the POs.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
3 games left for the Kings. A ver difficult one in Denver, a deciding one against Hornets and the last against Sonics which hopefully won't matter. Jazz play in Oklahoma City tonight and we will know much more after it is over. Let's just hope that when this is all said and done - we don't have to revisit the 17 point lead that we gave up the other night. The pressuer is there because it has been a while since we had to fight so hard just to get in the POs. Usually the Kings clinched it in March.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
In the first half of the last game - there were some comments about this team being "great" or having a potential to be "great." Obviously, it is much easier to be smart after the game - but we had a great team here not that long ago and there are worlds between those 2 teams. Talent, leadership, chemistry, swager etc. This team has some solid pieces abu it is also lacking many things needed. Even just making the post season - is success with what we have. For something more - changes are neccessary.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
It was bound to happen - Larry Brown got sick of the Knicks (I hope that he will be OK). While, he is to blame also - it is hard to make decent meal with the garbage that Thomas is buying at "Piggly Wiggly" (no offense, please).
Knicks have raised "sucking" on another level, which is higher then the first level. And according to the Starbury, they are ready to raise it a couple levels higher after raising it to another level above all those levels. I don't get it either.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Award time - TDM went to E House who scored 9pts (4-5) in only 9 minutes and also had a rebound and 2 assists. R Bell worked on his "TDM masters degree" but abusing us badly the whole night.
LW-VC award was NOT won in a spectacular fashion by our own Kenny Thomas who played 15 minutes without taking a shot. He did miss 2 FTs to go with 3 rebounds a steal and a turnover. Not many NBA starters are capable of doing less. Way to go KT.. The award went to Kevin Martin who managed to outsuck KT in a hard fought battle. To be fair Kevin played 9 more minutes and there is no way to tell how bad KT would have been with 9 more minutes. Still - 24 minutes, 3 points (1-6), no rebounds, an assist, a steal and 2 turnovers. Looks like the "road disease" spread to the ARCO for Kevin too.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
When You fight for the PO and You need every win that You can get - You just don't blow a 17 pt lead at home especially with several Suns starters in foul trouble. They cought fire and we run out of ammunition. We couldn't defend and did not even try. We felt apart in a choke job of the year. Suns were on life support in the first half and we just had to pull the plug. Pathetic
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Nuggets are always hard to play at altitude. We had 3 days to think about the last game and that could be good or bad. They will run and we need to start well because playing from behind in Denver rarely ends up good. The good thing is that Jazz and Hornets play tonight so we will know more about what we need to do. A loss would increase the pressure.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mike - Andre Miller is waiting but Earl is injured so - less pressure might result in a big game.
Ron - seams like we are running out of pills. We need to resupply. I hope they bring duct tape - just in case.
Brad - in for a very rough night
Bonzi - vs. Ruben Patterson. let's just hope that it goes well.
SAR - get the damn rebound man. Your streak is still on
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
KT - can't get worse Kenny
Cisco - stop trying to be a hero. Just do what You are told
Kevin - come on kid - we need You
Rest - "good night and good luck"
----------------------------------------------------------------------
RA - we got this far - just keep them together - please!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Denver at home is hard to beat. Mello has been great but he hasn't met Ron yet. Since the game is in Denver - let's hope nobody gets shot. TDM will go to Elston only because Najera is injured. LW-VC award hopefully goes to Mello.

"La played without Kobe (personal reasons = they sucked so much so he crawled in a hole and cried) "

That's when his wife had an ectopic pregnancy terminated. (Though they were suckin' pretty hard then.):p

if that game "meant" something in terms of PO - he would have played

i thought artest first home game with the kings was vs the nuggets?

anyways, the game will be a little easier for you as we are resting a ton of players for the playoffs. our frontcourt is basically out, as is boykins.

btw: do you guys want 7th or 8th? spurs or suns?

I noticed Camby did not play against the Jazz.

Is he hurt or just resting for the playoffs?

The way everything is playing out, Sunday may be our biggest game of the season.

I'm scared, but hoping for the best.

Piggly wiggly-good one piksi. I hope Larry gets well soon also. We're rested and hopefully this little break has given Cisco and Kevin time to get to almost 100% and we'll win. I'm still waiting on our x, we're running out of time! We should be in the East, teams there are trying not to make the PO's:confused:

upside is that with Denver locked at 3rd palce they are very likely to be a little more complacent and possibly relucant to risk major min for starters. I'd tell the Kings to come in hard and fast playing very physical and try to intimidate them out of the game.

i dont have a good feeling about this game...sorry guys..my feelings decide all

Why? At least explain that.

At least 3 of Camby (questionable)/Martin/Boykins/Najera will be out for the game. Sure, 'Melo/Andre/Patterson still there, but it's likely they won't play as much (Spurs/Mavs are in different situations). But we'll run it at them in the end and win.

Linas Kleisa - TDM award.

That's what makes the game worrisome. If they can't win a game where Denver will probably be playing their bench most of the time, then they probably don't deserve a playoff spot.

Why worry?

I prefer to have faith they will take care of business and get the win.

If they don't then, as Adelman has indicated, they don't deserve to be in the playoffs anyway...

Oh with a season this long it it is always prettry convincing that the teams that get play off spots deserve them... and in general they deserve the very slot the get (Dallas would obviously be the exception this year). Lets face it the Kings deserve the number 8 slot only a tiny bit more than Utha or New Orlens and beceause that edge is very slight it IS subject to change.

Now if the Kings starters can't beat Denvers bench then it will be very clear that the Kings did NOT deserve the number 3 slot, and that 8 slot is still debateable.;)

Woohoo!!! My brother works for an airline and woke me up at 2am and said to start getting ready to go to Denver for the day.....buddy pass.....and watch the game. :D

We are in the hotel right now getting ready to head out........I will try to get pictures with my 2MP cell phone camera, but no promises they will look too good!

whats tdm?

Tony Delk Memorial Award - the player who comes off the bench and scores career high numbers against the Kings.

The Tony Delk Memorial award. He once dropped over 50 pts on the Kings. It stands for: not so great player who the Kings let punk em.:D

Note: this is my own interpretation.

Wooohooo................

Good news for everyone tonight. I am getting off early tonight from work and will be able to watch the game. I, like GoGoGadget, also have an unbeaten streak going when I watch at my local sports bar. I will be there drinking Sierra Nevada's and rooting on the Kings.

P.S.- The owner of this bar is also a Kings fan (in Long Beach:eek: ) so he sets me up with the games on the plasma while the Laker fans are stuck watching on the little T.V.'s:p

GO KINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

We will win. But it doesn't matter anyway. We don't even have to win anymore.

Oh I hope the team doesn't have that mindset.

Yes, it does matter. The way this team has played lately we desperately need to see them end the season on a strong note. They need to show some signs of really WANTING to get into the playoffs and do well.

While I agree with VF21, what is this about not needing to win any more games? Last I knew our magic # was still 2 with the Jazz and 1 with the Hornets. What has changed?
