true, but the only reason this has blown up is that some people have decided to turn a nice little tidbit into another excuse to criticize Peja.LPKingsFan said:And that's exactly why it appeared on page seven, as part of a "notebook" piece, in which these types of things usually appear. It's not breaking news or hard hitting analysis, but it's not supposed to be. Just an observation, with a somewhat sensational headline.
Yes, Peja has had a lousy year, even a lousy couple of years. And yes, he hasn't been the clutch player or the hardnosed defender that we hoped he would be. So go ahead and call for his head in other threads where it's within context to make such arguments. Fair enough.
But why can't we just acknowledge an accomplishment and move on? I know it's not a huge deal, but it sort of makes me sad to see what Peja's tenure here has become - a source of so much discontent. Did we not at one time marvel at his game, praise Geoff for his uncanny eye, and demand that Peja start over Corliss Williamson? I, for one, and glad that Peja has been here as long as he has, because he's provided some really special moments, especially when he and Vlade were playing together.
Sure, his time here may be coming to a close. But do we have to be so bitter about times past?
