Thank God for Clippers !;)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
On April 4th 2004 Kings won in Houston 99-94 to improve to 53-23 for the season. Pedja had a great game with 28/11/3/3st. Webber was solid with 19/8/6/2st/2bl, DC had 17/4/6/4st, Vlade had 10/3/6/3st and Mike had 8/3/4/2st. Darius had 8/4 and Peeler scored 9 pts of the bench.

The Sacramento Kings needed to stop their slide. The best way to do that was to get their best shooter, Peja Stojakovic, some open looks at the basket. Stojakovic scored 11 points in a 13-0 third-quarter run to help
push the Kings to a 99-94 victory over the Houston Rockets that snapped a two-game slide
.

"We did a pretty good job of moving the ball and people movement," said Stojakovic, who made 9-of-15 shots and pulled down 11 rebounds. "Jimmy's a good defender. I know he's going to try to play physical."

Webber, playing in just his 17th game of the season since returning from a knee injury, looked more like the former All-Star. He totaled 19 points, eight rebounds and six assists.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kings @ 38-36 on a 3 game winning streak snapped a 2 game home losing streak last night. Still 1.5 games behind the 7th spot and 1.5/2 games ahead of 9th and 10 th spot in the Western conference. With 8 games to go even 4-4 should probably be enough to make it. Schedule is not easy but other teams have to win too.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
In a game that involves Kings a big lead is never safe and it usually doesn't last. in the past Kings were known to just turn on for a quarter and eraze 20 pts deficit quickly. Things kinda changed. Kings nowdays are very capable in losing big leads in minutes. A 20-0 runs have been a theme all season long. BB is a game of runs and Kings take it to literarly. There is no rule to prohibits extending the lead from +10 to +20. Someone please tell them that.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ron Artest would (allegedly) like to be catalyst on the offense. I just have a hard time imagining him in Vlade's or Webber's role. So far, Ron has never seen a shot he didn't like. Appereantly 20+ shots a night is not enough. I have no problem with Ron taking 20+ shots. I do have a problem with half of them being threes early in the shot clock. Gee, Ron how about making some more shots from what You are taking now. Here is a clue for You. Get the hell inside and punish Your opponent inside. Then You can take 50 shots for all I care. We have enough 3pts shooter as it is. We can't get Brad to go inside because he might get a rebound on accident and we can't have that. We don't have much in there. Whoever forgot to give him the pills before that interwiev should be fired. We can't have that people. He needs his medicine.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
This game did not really have a TDM award winner. None of the scrubs burned us. However - 2 players continue to contribute to their TDM - life achievement award. Caveman and Vlad once again filled us up pretty bad getting a double double each. Caveman has definitelly passed Joel on the Kings killer list. Vlad has shown that he doesn't discriminate the uniform in which he will torture us. Sonics, Clippers - all seams to be same to him. Also the fact that Pedja is gone did not disturb him much. Made me finally realize that Vlad did not try too hard because he wanted to look god against Pedja. He just happenes to be the random player (just like the other 50% of the league), who "likes" to play Kings.
LW-VC award went to the former King - Cattino Mobley. 5 pts (2-11) 4 rb,3 assists and 3 TOs in 28 minutes. Keep it up Cat.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
We still own Clippers who are a good team BTW. Kinda nice to know that "our property" is gaining more value. I would rather own the secon best team in LA but this will do it too. We had hard time rebounding but Clippers had a hard time taking care of the ball. Other than that - Brad was very good and SAR was awsome - all the others contributed enough for us to keep the streak going.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dallas is next. We used to own them too. The technical term was "Webber syndrome." They don't have Finley anymore which is Finley's fault BTW. Mavsare pretty good but beatable. They have injuries problems and are not playing that well currently. Saying that Dirk is playing "crazy" as of late and we need to contain that. we need to rebound more and shoot less threes in general and in particular here. They might be more relaxed because they can't catch the Spurs anymore. That might be our chance.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Mike - still functioning - somehow
Brad - harris isn't playing - so Brad will feel lonley on the court. Maybe double digits rebounding. Nah, who am i kidding?
Ron - pills still needed. 24 shots are OK - 10 3p FGA are way too much. Get in there Ron.
SAR - playing like a man who is curious about POs.
Bonzi - back to starting and almost as good as "new"
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Cisco - still rusty
Kevin - rusty as expected
KT - hasn't done much
rest - mateen
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rick - has got to strt taling AV's calls because otherwise - she won't stop writing and we will waste more of our lives just because we can't resist to founf out what is next.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dallas is good. We all hate Cuban, some of You hate Dirk but can't deny his "greatness." Teerry vs. Bibby is always fun. Looking at their roster - bunch of nonames which is never a good sign considering Howard/Daniels combo which "likes" us so much. TDM award goes to Powell. LW-VC award hopefully to a Maverick. Dampier sounds good to me.

Sorry, piksi...I've been enjoying your intros lately, but I think this is way out of line. Artest played an excellent game last night. Taking those outside shots early drew the defense out more. He used the first part of the game to show the Clippers a pretty good variety of his capabilities. Then in the second half he buckled down and really made some key contributions. When he got the ball on the perimeter, at least one defender dropped out leaving more opportunity for SAR inside...

But this isn't about that game. If I was, I would have devoted more time to chastizing Kenny Thomas for his sudden apparent belief that he's supposed to be the tough guy on the court. We do not need him getting kicked out of the game or arguing with officials and getting hit with technicals. He is the one who needs to be taken to the woodshed, so to speak, not Artest.

;)

That would be like blaming Jason Hart because he sucks. Nothing, he can do about it. KT has played as well as he possibly can for us. In his case - that is "all she wrote". There is a reason that we couldn't trade him.
In Ron's case - "in general" - he has more potential than he is showing. Yes, he sure played a good game against Clippers but in general his FG% is not nearly as good as it needs to be for the first option

8 more games. with the jazz and hornets 2-3 games behind we cant afford to sleep. we have to win at least half the remaining games.

I have a good feeling about this one. Hopefully the Kings are hungry for some more wins against PO teams and take this road trip as a personal challenge, rather than an insurmountable feat.

Of the two Texas games, I'd rather us win the Spurs game if I only get to pick one, but we really need anything we can get at this point. Beating SA would boost our confidence and make them think "hey...they're a pretty good 8th seed...oh crap..."

But beating Dallas is always fun, especially when it leaves Dirk scratching his head, Cuban sucking his thumb, and AJ fuming at his players. Looking forward to it!! Let's go KINGS!!

I am pretty optimistic... I honestly think that the kings can beat anyone. If we pass the ball, and hit open shots, and Ron doenst shoot tons of shots, i think we can win. Dallas has bee shaken up recently, and they could still be flustered. SA is 5-9 on back to back games and TD has been nursing and injury all season. I think we could win 1 of the 2. Heck maybe even both... unlikly but for some reason, i feel like the spurs game will be our victory night

25 minutes away ^_^

I think we will win tonight and tommarow...not sure but I hope we do.

My opinion is Ron needs to post up and drive more, it cause problems for the opponent and not many can guard him, 10 three's is too much, I think he does stay on the perimeter too often.

The point isn't or shouldn't be how many threes he attempted but whether or not they were forced or within the flow of the game.

He took open shots, which he certainly should take, and he took at least two shots simply because he had the ball with the clock winding down and nothing else to do.

Ron is giving opponents fits by NOT just staying inside and posting up. Each three that he makes causes the defense to have to give him a little more coverage, which in turn opens someone else up.

If we win, it will be because he has continued to play like he did against the Clippers, mixing up his game, looking for the open man, CREATING open looks for other guys on the team, etc.

In all honesty, I have more of a problem with Brad's tendency to pass up OPEN jumpshots than I do with Artest taking open threes. Of those 10 he took, two were complete desperation 24 seconds attempts. So, if you take them away, you have him shooting 4 of 8 from beyond the arc. That's 50% shooting and that will force any defense to consider him a viable threat outside AND inside.
