Honestly, it was a great game, can't be mad.

The Mavs fought pretty hard

Domas probably could have done more, it is what it is.

And a good loss for the draft

That Woss might have gotten us AJ Griffin or some other needed player

The thing is that you can clearly see the bones of a good team now whereas before the trade things were still looking incredibly far off.
Fox and Sabonis are studs.
Barnes is good but randomly fades like he did today.
Mitchell and DDV are the type of defensive dogs this team has needed for years.
Hell, Lyles has shown himself to be a useful offensive piece to play off of Sabonis in a limited role.

You just get them one more guy capable of not melting like a creamsicle and the team's in good shape next season.

Oh, and we need a new coach.

Hard fought lin!!

Bad day for the "Fox is garbage" contingent too.

This team isn't competing for jack without a new HC and a more consistent supporting cast, so nuts to the play-in!

I'm excited to see how McNair continues to build around Fox and Ox this summer, losses like today are easy to live with.
They just lost to a Dallas team with Doncic, THJ, Maxi missing the game.....Meaning Fox and OX lost to Brunson and Dinwiddie......

I cant wait till we get a real coach. So sick of this bum getting outcoached every 2nd half. Where was Lyles! All 2nd half! Where the hell was he. He did excellent job 1st have then benched dam near all 2nd half. Let me just end all hope now smh.

I tuned in just to see the last two possessions. I was ok with it until I saw Luka in street clothes. oh well. I think we're going to be best off with a new coach and a high pick so a win against a team without their star is pretty empty calories.

Fox can't do it all I guess.

Sabonis is a good player and puts up very gaudy stat lines with sound play and fundamentals, but honestly since he's been here I haven't seen the "it" factor that Fox has shown throughout his career and even Hali showed when he stopped being scared of himself.

Maybe it's just easier for guards to do, but Boogie had it.

Yeah but the Fox and the Ox were definitely not the ones who lost that game (okay, maybe Domas did lose the game a little). Harrison Barnes randomly deciding to play like a rookie and Justin Holiday turning in a prime Budward performance while Alvin Gentry failed to make any adjustments after the start of the third quarter probably played a bigger role in this loss than them.

Well, Fox missed a free throw and had his first turnover at a critical time.

I don't think he made his teammates better today. But yeah 44pt meaningless points in a loss against a Dallas team without Doncic.

At least he is increasing his trade value. ;)

I'm pro-tank, so I'm good with that.

And just like it was with Luke, or any other head coach we've had since RA (aside from Malone and Joerger), it's really hard to judge this team with Gentry calling the shots. There's a reason we always get our butts kicked in the second half.

Fox and Ox is a good duo, could be a great duo with a great coach. That's the real question that'll remain unanswered until this summer, so until then... let's get those ping pong balls!!

This hire needs to be a hit or we screwed for another 5-7 years

Yep. We had some momentum with the Collison/Gay/Cousins squad too until George Karl stepped in and blew it all up. If we mess up this next head coaching hire that's probably the end of our chances of winning with this current group too.

But with Fox rediscovering his superstar potential post-trade, I'm not sure that Sabonis needs to be that guy for this team to succeed. If Fox is the number one option, you can let Sabonis be the glue guy that he naturally is as the second (or preferably third) option/facilitator on offense as long as the guys around them aren't huge net negatives on the floor.

This summer will obviously be huge but if they can just get one more piece (preferably on the wing), they're going to at least be a .500 team.

Sabonis would be a hell of a Robin if Fox continues to develop into a clear cut #1 option though!

Sabonis at his best is probably a #3 option with great playmaking imo, he can fill in as a 2nd but ideally you want two better scorers than him.

The front office blew it up, when they fired Malone

I actually trust Monte to get it right. I haven't had any faith the team would make a good coaching hire since they canned Muss after the first season. Malone was a good hire, and Joerger could have been. Which means that the first coach a new regime brought in was pretty ok, but impatience did them in. Monte has the benefit of assembling at least a good bones build before picking his first coach so we'll see.

It's funny how one bad bounce is the difference between... "we lost to a depleted Mavs team and Fox doesn't make his teammates better" and "Ja who"? Fox tonight was aggressive, efficient, effective on defense, and virtually mistake free. He answered his critics on every level but instead we're going to hear about how we still lost. I pray for a better storyline next season.

Fox was outstanding today
